Hey guys! I'm sure some of you have seen some of my videos and posts on the new kit I have been testing for Full Tilt Boogie Racing. It's the 14inch 4 piston Wilwood kit. Here is an in depth look at the kit.

Will be doing a review and hard road test video coming soon like I said in the video. The kit is up on their site here: 1999-2004 Cobra Brake Parts
So far the kit is Insane.

Wow that’s a killer setup. Very well done

Is there still enough temp in your area to do some stop tests after seating the pads? I’d imagine on the tires your running that it is yards ahead of stock stopping distances.

Iirc, one of the magazines had a stock 03 cobra at 126ft, another at 119ft from 60mph. The 2000 cobra R was something like 110ft iirc, or better.

Anyways, keep us posted, this looks great

Thanks brother! We did stop testing in the review video above, but we will be doing a stopping comparison test between a stock cobra vs mine either this fall or come springtime. Its getting colder here but we will see.

The vid was great. Thanks for putting it together, very good examples in the vid, I think you guys did some very practical and realistic stop scenario’s.

I’m very interested to see what some measured numbers would come in at, I think with a complete ftbr rear, and sla front of even MM, with coils all around, these brakes and nice r888’s that 100ft is doable from 60mph

I really like that this kit keeps weight down when you spec the street rotor. Obviously the small stock 2p calipers and 13” aren’t obnoxiously heavy, but I like that you can step up to a bigger more capable system that is lighter thanks to its engineering.

Adding just 1-2lbs of unsprung weight at each corner can have a decidedly negative effect on how nimble and playful a car is. Add heavier wheels, huge brakes for the sake of shows and events, and dedicated drag radials like a Hoosier or Mickey (great track tire though) to a cobra and it can become something unenjoyable to drive.

Now on the other hand, taking older cars like a terminator and lopping 10-15lbs at each corner by getting much lighter brakes, rims and stickier tires can breath new life into how these cars drive.

I’d personally spec the 14” road racing rotors because at 5-6lbs heavier, it not so much that it’ll kill steering feel, but it is much better for stops from high speed which I routinely hit. Just a few pulls high speed pulls and stops and my current 13” Brembo cobra r kit starts to get squishy. The 14” heavy duty steel rotor should stand up much better to heat tolerance, and be a more usable surface area for the pads to scrub against, keeping those cooler as well.

Here is the short test video comparing the stock 13" 2 piston cobra vs my 14" 4 piston Wilwoods.

How you you think it would compare to the Brembo expensive kit? I feel like that video was enough for me to consider that worth it in itself. Can't wait to see with the rear break swap too!

I would think it would perform the same but even it it was a little better its no way worth the price premium you pay for the Brembos. The car feels like a real performance car now its goes and stops now lol

I guess I got lucky in that my 2000 Steeda car came with 00R brakes already on it. Stops fast as hell, you are saying these Wilwoods would not be much of an upgrade from the 00R brakes?

definitely an upgrade but not as much of an upgrade compared to stock 13inch cobra brakes.
