I'm Coyote swapping my 98 Cobra and I swapped in an Aeromotive Stealth 340 LPH fuel pump in my stock basket. That little black hose broke off during the install. What does it do? Do I need it? If I had to buy a new fuel pump I'd just go with a BBK 300 LPH drop in fuel pump. Thanks, guys.

I can't help with your hose question, but you may want to look into adding a few holes to the lower portion of your stock basket. I've seen several 98 cars have issues because the pump starves the basket of fuel before it can replenish. Adding holes to the bottom of it helps alleviate that.

Thanks for the heads up. I already drilled (8) 1/4" holes in the basket.

I wish I could help, I installed the same pump a month ago but have no clue what it does. That pump rocks too, provides plenty of fuel.

Mine is a '97. I see yours is a '98, so it could be slightly different but it's a 340. I'll have to double check the PN on the box if you're curious when I get home.

First..I thought the 1998 was a returnless system...or just uses a pwm pump??
And I am just going to say this is just surge hose...my guess,

You can just buy a cheap FP and canister and put the new pump in that.

The stealth has you drill a surge hole about 1/2" above the bottom of the basket/canister.
