Hello everyone. I'm officially in the market for a Gen 1 Raptor and am wanting to know if yall have any cues that signify it either defintely being a Raptor or not. I've done a lot of research and looked at a lot of pictures but if I find out 3 months later thought I bought a fake I'm gonna lose my mind. Should I really just focus on the vin?

The whole reason for this post is I found an oddity that I am not entirely sure about. The picture attached shows a raptor badge with a number by the shifter. Is this stock or is the something the previous owner did on his own? I haven't seen this on any other trucks and am just really trying to narrow down what is real and what isn't.

So long story short, are the badges authentic? And what other signals do yall look for that screams without a doubt, yes this is an original gen 1 raptor.

Thank you!

Your pic is not posted yet, when Im replying, but VERY easy to spot a Fraptor (fake raptor). Start with the front lower control arms and the Fox shocks. Front fenders are super flared, and will have a SVT badge under the A pillar, many many other easy to spot items on a gen 1 (even raptor stitching in the front seats).

Again should be very easy to weed out the fraptors.

Here is the pic I'm not sure why it didn't download the first time. Do they normally come with this badge? I wanna say the 12 and 13 bosses do this along with a number of other mustangs. But svt running the show in 12/13 made me think if the bosses were doing it the raptors may have as well

Thanks for your input I really like the svt badge under the a pillar that one sounds hard to fake and not known by people who would be faking. This one I'm looking at seems legit but it just got me thinking I'd like to have a couple checks I can do before I sign my life away. Will defintely be using the things you said to check thanks again

That badge pictured is not factory. A prior owner had that made. The SVT logo under the A pillar, cant be faked, its inset to the fender, which will be plastic, and unique to a Raptor (quite flared over a "normal" F150).
