Updated Page 3, Post 41 for the finished pics

No car projects planned but the mod bug is nipping.
Decided to mod the "Snake Den" should be a 3 week project.
The doors and everything are original to the house, built in 2002. Cheap builder grade shit
This is not the forever garage, so simple upgrades, w/e the hell that means.

I did this to my detached garage a couple years ago, makes a big difference compared to the shitty builder grade stuff.

Two tone the inside walls, breaks it up nice with a stripe in the middle.

Maybe a light grey on top dark grey on the bottom with a blue stripe / border in the middle to match the car.

Even a simple painted stripe on the floor to divide the two sides can break it up, and give you a bearing when backing in, knowing you are centered or even on one side.

Check your local electric provider, they might have some good rebates on LED lights.

I like Dave's suggestion of two-tone paint with a stripe in the middle. It will really make your garage POP! Here's an example. Ordinarily I'd go with the red stripe, but since your Shelby is blue, the blue stripe idea is perfect. I would go with a light gray on top (3/4 high) to help with reflecting the light.

Headed into town today for the Lawn and Garden show in Savannah.
Checked out hot tubs, won't fit, so scratch the idea
My LEDs showed up from amazon. 4 Pack $100.00 and bright as hell. Gonna start with 4, but will probably bump up to 8.
Throwing some flooring ideas together

I prefer the no BLACK specs. So my test sample is the smaller square in the middle

The flooring idea is a good one. I looked into Race Deck a year or so ago. Good option if you're not going epoxy.

What paint sheen are you guys using? Will gloss and bright LEDs be too much? Interior or exterior? The direction of mymhouse means I occasionally get blowing rain and snow coming in.

I went with a semi gloss exterior for all the colors. Exterior for mildew resistance and semi gloss for any smudge cleanup. With that and the light gray floor and 16 2200 lumens 5k led t8s it is awesome. I am not sure too much light is a bad thing. I also put in 1x3 trim and caulked all the seems so i could spray off the car in the garage and squeegee it out.

Well for my application, remember I am in Georgia, so my climate is a little more forgiving than all that snow, slush and cold crap.

The ONLY primary paint finish I use in my house is EggShell. It's the in thing.
Sherwin Williams makes their Showcase edition (maybe a bit extreme) but that's what I use with a 10% military discount @ Lowes

Walls : Eggshell Finish.
Don't want the added chemicals in EXTERIOR PAINT in an area that that will be used as a mancave/hangout.

Exterior Paint will be used on exterior surfaces, Ie door etc, semi-gloss

Base boards: White vinyl 1"x6" no crappy MDF here

Trim: White Semi Gloss Interior Paint

Here is a link to my lights. My father in law has them installed and in use for over 3 years, still going strong.

I am also adding in some LED w/ remote floodlights as well

Thanks for the feedback. Did you guys prime the drywall first or just paint?

I really don't want to prime & paint a 3car garage including ceiling...I'm not that motivated.

And I have a cheap LPLV gun that I've never used. Would this work or easier/cleaner with a roller?

Did mine a while back... Hope you don't mind the share. House built in 1952. Garage had never been touched as far as I know. plywood on some walls, no insulation, no lighting, two prong electrical, questionable 220, glass fuses, no auto garage opener etc... Need I say more?

Took a little over a month and a half to complete. New romex, dedicated breaker, 20+ outlets, carbon brindle epoxy floor, lighting (not pictured), shelving, etc.
