My sister lives in Southern California and she was laughing at how people in New York were freaking out, she was like "shit a 5.8 wont even wake me up" lol

I honestly didn't even feel anything. I do wonder if maybe I lost my balance or tripped or something and didn't think anything of it lol. Naturally the people a few stories up in buildings felt it though.
I will say it is funny to laugh cause any where that gets earthquakes regularly would laugh at this, but in DC and most of the east coast buildings are not built for earthquakes. So if we did get something like a 6.5 or higher, some buildings could be in serious trouble.
My prayers go out to everyone who lives in the effected region................. TERRIBLE!
Wonder if they got checks? I heard FEMA came out to help. Now they're missing 24 billion dollars.
The destruction is unreal lol.
I bet she's one of the people who bought 5 cases of water when it snowed there.
