I liked the Holden version much better. The GTO styling was very bland. Didn't they originally have a problem with losing oil pressure?

I never liked them they reminded me of saturns.

Ive never lost a race to one in my bone stock 98 ls1 6spd camaro either probably another reason why I didnt care for them.

I out ran one guy who I pulled up to at a red light once. He had a cam chopping its ass off and said he had exhaust cam intake ported heads and tune. We ran from 35 to 80 and were side by side the entire time. He probably didnt believe me when I told him it was bone stock.

I wrenched at a Pontiac dealer in 04 and we could not give these things away. Loved the interiors, especially the seats, was much nicer than the Vette of the same year. IIRC they were about $5-6K more than the Cobras in 6Liter form.

Great video review! I well remember the GTO. Not so much the '04, though. As nice as it was overall back then, compared to the other cars, it lacked visual punch on the exterior. Pontiac fixed that with the '05 and '06, as well as making the move to the LS2 for a needed (and nice) jump of 50hp too 400.

Something always seemed off to me when looking at the rear quarter panels. Interior was nicer than most cars of the era

I have always liked them, I prefer the 6.0s but I'd still like to pick one up someday. Sad they only have room for such small tires in the back tho.

Kind of a "squat" look. To me, the rear width always looked more narrow than the front. Weird, like you said. I also always thought It had a Cavalier look in the rear quarter panel area.

You're definitely the minority. LOL. The 2005-2006 got a lot more love in large part due to those hood scoops. The 2004 did have a definitely sleeper look with that hood.
