Did Ford offer a 3.55 rear gear option for 2009 GT500's? The reason I'm asking is when I was installed my UCA/LCA's I noticed the tag on my diff cover said 3.55. I was under the impression the 07 to 09 came with 3.31's from the factory. I bought my car new off the showroom floor so I know it was a unmolested car.
The 2007 to 2009 came standard with 3.31's. The 2010 came standard with 3.55's. That's why I'm questioning why my diff is tagged 3.55. Guess I don't need to upgrade the rear gear!
Yes, it was a late 2009. I bought it just before the 2010's hit the streets. I'm guessing it had a 2010 rearend set up. I guess I am lucky to get it. I know the rear gear is a popular mod with the 07 to 09's.
In 6th gear with 3.31 at 2000 rpms you should be doing 77mph, with 3.55 you should be at 72mph. So if you're below 75mph at 2000 you've got 3.55s. Unless you got a 2010 trans too, the 2010 trans has a taller 6th gear (.50 instead of .63). With a 2010 trans you'd be doing 90mph at 2000 with 3.55.
Ok, at 2000 rpm in 6th gear I'm running just under 75mph. How about that, and 09 with factory 3.55's!
What does your door jamb sticker indicate for axle code? CG=3.31 CD=3.55 On my 3.31 equipped '09 it shows "CG"
I took a picture of the sticker with my POS phone, it's not worth posting even if I could. Anyway, it's got a barcode but on the bottom left side under the barcode it says 3.55.
