Yep. Solve the mystery with a swap for a set of 3.73's, or even better 4.10's. You won't regret it unless you're trying to win a hyper-miling competition. And if thats the case, you bought the wrong car.

If you can't post up a photo can you at least provide the numbers listed beneath the bar code? In addition, you should see a large wraparound sticker on the passenger side axle tube. A stock '07-'09 tube with 3.31's will have a sticker that looks like this..
In addition (as mentioned) providing the information from the tag at the door opening would be helpful as well.

Chock the front wheels and jack the rear end of your GT500 up. Take off the emergency break and put the transmission in neutral. Climb under the rear of the car and put a small reference point towards the back of the driveshaft, and another one on one of your rear wheels. While you're lying under the car, have someone slowly spin one of the rear tires one complete revolution while you are counting the revolutions of the driveshaft. You will be able to tell whether they are indeed 3.55's or 3.31's.
I definetely didn't buy the car to hyper mile...lol.
Ok, the sticker on the diff reads as follows. Above the barcode it says Synth Lube Only. The number below the barcode is V265-k082040088j. The sticker on the axle doesn't look like the pic you posted Tob, it does have a barcode and a number that reads v255k08204088jy
now thats some funny stuff......
