Ok so I just got back from the track on Friday night.

It was dead at the track ( Toronto Motorsports Park ) Ontario,Canada.
It was a warm night about 25degrees.
Left lane was not sticky enough so I kept going in the right lane.

1st pass : Trac Off ( just quickly pushed the button )
wanted to get a feel for it b4 holding the brake with it off.
Well I could not keep the rear end straight after smashing 2nd gear, I would have to literally let off the throttle. This was off idle :

Tires : 265/40/19 36psi (rears)
60' : 2.362
1/4 : 13.310
Mph : 105.34

it was a horrible pass ( I had to let off the throttle ).

Best passes were all done with Traction Control Fully on.
Off idle or at 2,000rpms.

Now this is the highest Mph pass :

tires : 265/40/19 28psi
60' : 2.35
1/4 : 13.019
Mph : 116.14

These 3 last passes were the best 1/4 miles of the night

tires : 265/40/19 26psi
60' : 2.217
1/4 : 12.971
mph : 115.12

tires : same
60' : 2.126 ( off idle )
1/4 : 12.790
mph : 115.21

tires same
60' : 2.077 ( 2,000 rpm launch )
1/4 : 12.762
mph : 115.31

So I guess I can say I ran what I figured I'd run , I was thinking 12.7-12.8's.

im going to be data logging the car as it's just running off a bama email tune.
And I will be getting a Driveshaft Shop Alum D/s.

But my main issue is traction. So I think everyone can agree on the Mickeys 28x9x15 / Race Star 15x8 combo ?

All in in all in pretty happy with running a best 1/4 of 12.7 and a best mph of 116mph.

Again the set-up :

Jba h-pipe off road
Air raid Cai
Pypes axel back
Bama v2 93R email tune
410whp / 394wtq

so I'm thinking of getting Bmr Drag springs and Koni Orange Shocks as everyone is telling me Koni Yellows even on the softest setting will be to stiff to drag with.

I reached out to : Steeda, up and Bmr and only Bmr has assisted me with improving my setup. There customer service seems top notch !

now should I get Bmr drag springs / koni orange shocks with a proper tire ( 28x9x15 Mickey slick on drag rims 15x 8 )
or should I get a nitto no5r in 19" ?

Also should I do the springs/shocks and tires or do the tires/slicks and driveshaft shop DS ?

i think I have the power and the mph to run a 11.99 I just need the correct tire setup....

Car :

2011 5.0 GT convertible. 6spd. Manual 3.55 gears.
Mods : jba Off road H-pipe, AirRaid Cai, Steeda Tri Shifter, Steeda UCA, Whiteline LCA , adj. Panhard bar, Bama v2 93R Tune.
410whp / 394wtq

Your gonna need to cut a 1.7x 60 foot to get into the 11s I think. If the car is an Auto like mine that's not possible without a converter you can throw all the parts and money you want at it but the converter is too tight. If it's a manual different story.

car made 410RWHP on dyno?

Yes 410whp / 394wtq in 5th gear.
Car made 407whp last weekend on a different Dynojet and different day. I was at Dyno Day bbq.
It's a 2011 Mustang GT Conv. 6spd Manual. Only 26,000kms on it. Not miles But kilometres.
Set-up : Jba Cat deletes, Jba H-pipe, AirRaid Cai, Pypes Muffler deletes A/b, Bama 93 v2 Race Tune.
I have a stock Dyno pull with just the Pypes Muffler deletes I believe car made 389whp.

Like mentioned, you need a tire, but you'll still have to work for it. I have similar mods on my coupe and I just tickled the 11's with a drag radial and a high 1.7 60 ft.

BTW, I always run with traction control and advancetrac all the way off.

No offense, but you'll need to learn how to drive your car better, it takes a lot of practice. You should be able to run faster with TC off by a wide margin, but you need to learn how to use the clutch and throttle together. A sticky tire is definitely recommended if you don't have them already.

Put on e.t. drags....stiffwalls.
set to 14 psi.
do burnout in. 2nd
set neutral rev limiter on your handheld to 5500
stage and hold peddle to floor....don't ever let peddle back b up until the end of the run.

I'm sorry but if your only running 12.8s and 12.7s with tune and off road mid pipe then you need driving practice. Learn to drive before you add more power, way more impressive that way.

I have a tune, off road X, and some basic BMR suspension parts along with an mgw shifter. Here's my pass on a STREET tire, Continental brand and this translates in to a high 11 in the quarter. +2650 DA at the time of the pass. There's no reason to be running 12.8s, I ran that bone stock with a little spin lol

Learn to slip your clutch off the line. You're never going to run a good time if you don't get your 60ft down.

Practice your launches and nail every gear on time. I hit up the track for the first time in this car Friday and was able to get a 2.1 60' ft after 2 attempts. That is prob the best I am going to see on street tires(hankook ventus EVO).
