Hey guys,

First time mustang owner with the mt82....My trans developed the famous gear whine at 10k miles, I took it to the dealer and got the normal thing as usual. Now I came across a post here from a while back with the following video: http://s51.photobucket.com/user/zac...3-4EF2-97F4-346317802FCF_zps2b203840.mp4.html

My mt82 now makes the exact same noise at idle and goes away with clutch pushed in, should I be worried or is this normal? Im at 20k miles and this noise combined with gear whine has been around since 10k

A little whine under light accel is normal, whine at idle I'd say is not. And like Sid said, Amsoil MTF will help the notchiness and help the whine a little too.

Thanks for the replies guys, My idle sound is not as loud as the video I posted here is one I took https://vid.me/3np9 I will eventually switch out the fluid when I hit the end of my power train at 35k I guess my real question here is should I push ford to replace my tranny before the 35k mark or keep the whiner.

As far as the regular gear whine I get not sure if its a little but normal to ford, does not seem to sound right in traffic when in first two gears lots of whines, even ones when coming to stop in low gear(no whine when at speed and off gas). Car shifts smooth and does not lock me out of gears.
