Hey guys not really familiar with the S550s but my brother recently destroyed the clutch in his car. I was able to drive it home without the clutch. The clutch pedal would not make contact with the clutch safety switch so I had to reach down hit it and the car would start no problem. Now it’s 3 weeks later we finally were able to get it to the shop, but the car will not start. We tested both safety switches even bypassed them and the car still says “engage clutch to start” not really sure what would be next to check. We were able to get the car running by manually jumping the starter from under the vehicle but it won’t even crank when holding in the switch. Any help would be much appreciated!
Hey, I'm having the same issue. Did you ever get to the bottom of this issue?

You need these conditions met to in order to start.

During a start event the ignition switch - push button start is pressed in combination with either the brake pedal (automatic transmission) or the clutch pedal (manual transmission) input. The RFA (remote function actuator) module, the BCM (body control module) and the PCM (powertrain control module) receive a request to start the engine. The PCM (powertrain control module) recognizes the correct inputs and provides voltage and ground to energize the starter relay coil and close the starter relay contacts. The starter relay contacts close, providing voltage to the starter solenoid, allowing the starter motor to crank the engine. The PCM (powertrain control module) disengages the starter motor once an engine Revolutions Per Minute (RPM) threshold is reached, a set crank time is exceeded or the ignition switch - push button start is pressed indicating an engine shutdown.
