Can anyone shed any light on the matter? Someone was trying to sell me some used Y2K brembos and I thought that this might be a better alternative since they would save me the cost re-finishing the old ones.

You "should" be able to see the dimensions of everything on Brembo's website. It's a bit hard to find, but they have a spreadsheet that has all the info you'll need.
