Im really starting to get into this car. I own a few SVTs currently and love the look and performance that they deliver. My 95 cobra is a bit raw and unrefined with its aftermarket t64 turbo, but my 13 raptor and gt500 remind me just how fun it is to be a vehicle lover. I've never been into 4 cylinder car, but this RS has put me on the fence and i got the feeling im going to find myself behind the wheel of a RS smiling.
Sell the shit out of it may not be the case now. So far everyone I know that has an ST is not happy with the RS. They like the performance but think the body is not up to standard for the RS and are planning on just keeping their ST's and putting larger turbo's on. For me it will come down to price and mpg
I want one of these very bad. I love mustangs but now that i'm 32 and have a family not to mention these bad winters we've been having here in Michigan i really need something with 4 doors that i can drive all year that is still a ball to drive. Instead of driving a beater car in the winter months.. Being able to fold the back seats down with the hatch makes for enough room for trips to home depot or Christmas shopping ec. :coolman:
I can only wonder how it rides and how much the MSRP will actually be. The new GTI AWD is $40k. My Fiesta ST was rough to drive on a daily basis, even worse on a road trip.
If I wasn't recently retired and had to drive everyday, I'd definitely consider the RS as a good year round performance car (albeit, with a change of tires). The SHO AWD also fits the bill, but it's BIG. But as it stands now, if the snow falls I just have a cup of coffee and wait 'till the plows do their job. ;-)
lol true. As for the RS only way to know it to test drive it. Got to make sure i get the same guy who let me test drive the 15 gt Mustang he change the mode to sport for me and i took him to 5th gear. I told him i was surprised he let me do it. He replied "well i figured if you havent wrecked your 13 GT500 you must have some driver skills" crazy thing is 3rd gear in the shelby is 135 going into 4th the 15 5th was 130s
I've already talked to the wife and we're planning on trading in my GT for the RS once it's on sale We have a kid now and as much as I love my 5.0, my daily driver volvo is just not the most reliable thing @ nearly 200k miles for long trips and the mustang is not practical (doable, not practical) for transporting a wife and a kid in a carseat around town. I need more space but I don't want to sacrifice the performance. I was considering an SRT-8 charger, new STI or seeing if I could find a low mileage Evo X that hadn't been modded or beaten on (virtually impossible) but what I am presuming to be an underrated 320hp, AWD and most likely excellent MPG, the RS is just looking like the best choice. Also looking at the 2016 upcoming golf R with the manual transmission but I feel like that will be a more restrained performance-wise vehicle than the RS.
What?! I have an ST (FiST) and I am extremely happy about the RS! However, I don't see myself trading in the FiST for the focus RS. Only because the ST is such a great daily driver for me and its a ton of fun. I might just own both at the same time.
I am real interested in the RS but if the price is in the mid $30K range forget it. I have been debating a WRX when my lease is up on my Fiesta ST. I almost wish I had gone that route to begin with. I really like the Fiesta but for a few thousand more I could have had more room, all wheel drive, and better performance. A few thousand more I am fine with, not sure I am willing to pay $10K more. I have been a V8 man all my life and the Fiesta is the first 4 banger I have owned. Totally worth the money. But once you get into the mid 30's the door opens up into a lot more performance options for the money.
im pretty sure this car is gonna be a 34,999 car...il probably still get it...i want to try awd, and supposedly this car has better turbos with more top end than the eco mustang, so they should make pretty good power with a tune...hopefully 350whp tuned and awd, fun enough for me...and a turbo swap away from 400whp...but if it only traps 100mph stock then ill have to pass....i need at least somethin thatll do 110 with a tune....well see...
I wouldn't be surprised if this car can go deep into the 400hp range with the stock turbo. I'm gonna have to see what size turbo they put on the last RS.
The EB Mustang has a K04 and I saw that the Porsche GT2s have twin K16s that when rebuilt can be good for up to 700hp, but then again that is for twins. A K24 would be nice though to give it a little more ceiling.
