New truck day!

2025 F150 Lariat Supercrew 501a with the 5.0L and 3.73 gears. Big thanks to Nick for helping review my local dealer pricing(which he didnt have to do) and Sid for help with getting an x-plan pin on such short notice.

Has the option boxes ticked for the Tow/Haul Package and Black Appearance Package.

So far the Coyote sounds are fantastic through the rear exhaust pipes. I do slightly miss the torque swell down low from an Ecoboost but we will see how things change once it gets some 93 octane in the tank(dealer put in 87).

Time to order the rear wheel well liners, all weather floor mats from Ford Accessories.

Anyone know what the "Lux Box" is? There are two part numbers for the all weather mats and the thing says "Lux Box" as being the thing that differentiates it.

and

No clue which fits.

Wife is on the look out to see about an Explorer Tremor or Explorer ST to replace her 21.....

I have a white ST in stock... or we can order either one and have it drop shipped local to you. You can either sell your Explorer private, sell to Carvana, or I can trade for it; we'd just need to account for shipping and see which is the best bang for your buck.

Will PM you once i talk with the misses about it. She wants to drive a Tremor before making her choice. Either choice would be with the 3.0L Ecoboost though, she doesnt want the 2.3L.

Saved some money by reusing my old bed mat(Husky brand) and fits like a glove.

Ordered a new Gator Tri-Fold soft tonneau cover for $158.99 off Amazon. Same one i had on the 2021 which was flat out fantastic for the money. Should be at my house early next week.

Finally found out through some digging that the "Lux Box" is the little under seat storage unit which my truck does not have. So now i know which all weather Ford mats to order.

Also ordered the rear wheel well liners(again, Ford needs to include them...SMFH) like i had on the 2021.

And final thing is the stubby antenna. I still dont know why Ford uses the 3' whip antenna on a 2025 vehicle. Its absolutely ugly as hell and range is not effected going to the smaller stubby antenna(or just delete it entirely and clean that fender up).

1000 miles as of this morning.

Got rear ended but thanks to my hitch ball it stopped the car before any damage to the bumper. Looks like her plastic bumper might have tapped the exhaust out of alignment. Nothing looks bent or broken. Woman was uninsured and tried to leave once i said i wanted the highway patrol to make a report in case of unknown damage.

You can see where my hitch went through her bumper.

Back end looks ok. I was distraught when it happened. Felt like my stomach dropped out through the seat. Wasnt angry or anything, just sighed and got out to ask her if she was ok. She then told me she didnt have insurance(after some choice questions on my part).

2000 miles after a small trip to OBX. Truck got 21.5mpg the entire time just cruising at 75mph.

I did order the Preaux Tuning 91 octane Flex Fuel Tune and the Preaux PreauxFlow Stage 2 intake kit as recommended by @White95. Will be the first time for me using HP Tuners on any vehicle. The Whipple airbox and his carbon fiber intake tube should be a nice little addition to the engine bay.

I do still have the VAS Fab traction bars from my 2021 that will fit this 2025.

Uploaded the new tune yesterday and drove around 100 miles so far. Truck is a monster on 93 with the tune. Significant increase in throttle response, big boost in low rpm torque production and revised shift points make it a treat to drive.

Cant wait to slap the Stage 2 intake kit on it tonight and see how the intake note changes.

Still contemplating the Whipple kit from Ford Racing. An additional 300hp would be killer.

An accident and no insurance (1st offense) should result in 30 days in the clink, loss of license for a year, and the vehicle being crushed.

A tune make a huge difference on these 10spd trucks.

Went to install the intake kit and it doesnt fit well at all. Kinda shocked at how poorly the Whipple airbox fit knowing how well people like Whipple for the supercharger kits.

My issues so far are vast between nearly every piece and the tolerances on the truck. Thinking im going to abandon the intake kit and find another one that has much better fitment. Wondering how the Whipple tube fits and if its better than the carbon tube from Preaux. Might be the solution to this mess.

So far im 4 hours into fitting this thing and its been flat out terrible.

Some things about the fitment issues:

The OE PCV tube and/or the hose that are sent are not long enough to reach the intake tube. They are both around 2" short from clicking or sliding onto the PCV bung on the carbon tube.

The intake tube PCV bung is loose in the bore of the O-ring to the point where it falls out with any tension on it.

The silicone couplers need to be shoved so far onto the intake tube that its nearly impossible to get the thing lined up between the coupler at the throttle body and the inlet of the Whipple airbox.

The Whipple air box fits but holy crap are the holes off for the two push pins. Need to literally flex the inlet duct to get it to line up which feels like its going to break off. Once it's there, plugged in its good but shocking at how poor the box fitment is.

Still waiting to hear back if the Whipple Crusher tube can be purchased separately. That way i can still utilize the Whipple box and just run their tube. No word yet.

If they wont sell just the tube/clamps/couplers then im going to find another intake kit to run.

After more than a week waiting for Whipple and Preaux to get me a price on an intake tube i decided to just go with another unit. Ordered the PMAS intake kit which was recommended by another tuner that i have used in the past.

I also went a grabbed a VAS Fab front diff brace with the understanding that ill be using his traction bars with this truck.

Truck got hit AGAIN. This time by a cart boy at the grocery store. Pulled carts out into the travel lane of the parking lot striking the side of the truck.

Off to the body shop on Monday. Have some bad luck with this one.
