I'm just interested in hearing your overall impressions of the Badlands.

First night with it was great. In cabin noise with the soft top is noticeable but I don't think it is any louder than my previous 7.3 trucks when driving down the highway. It is much easier to get into and out of than I expected. Most jeeps I've been in have the higher tub on the side where as the Bronco is almost completely flat. Ride was nice, soaked up bumps on the street better than anything I have ever personally experienced. The little 2.3 and 10 speed seems like a perfectly fine powerplant, it never felt underpowered when merging or cruising. The only issue I've had so far is the android car play would skip very bad when playing music on Spotify but I think that was an issue with my phone. Top is extremely easy to take down. A friend and I did it in less then 5 minutes having never messed with one or watched any videos on how to do it. I wasn't able to full close the top in my garage however. I can get it to the halfway position but it hits my roof when trying to flip the top the last time. It's minor inconvenience but something worth noting imo. I put our rear facing car seat in the passenger side and I was able to sit in the front seat very comfortably. It is also smaller than I thought it would be. It fits in the garage next to the cobra fine, maybe more room than my wife's fusion had.

I'm likely going to take half a "sick day" today so the wife and I can drive around with the kid and get a decent amount of drive time. The only problem I foresee is letting her drive. It's going to be her DD so she needs to experience but I don't want to get out from behind the wheel lol.

Took a half day to get as much drive time in as we could yesterday. Put about 200 miles on it in the day I had it. Never encountered any issues and got to play with the top, doors and a few of the GOAT modes a bit more. Tried using the trail turn assist in a gravel lot and grass field but think I was being a sissy with it cause it didn't work great. I bet I had 50 people stop and ask about it. 1 month old chilled in the back for about 5 hours so it passed the kid test. There wasn't a single time the 2.3 felt underpowered, adding 35s without re-gearing may create some sluggishness though. Top is super easy to take down and can be done by yourself in less than 5 minutes. Road noise never felt over whelming and I don't think it would be an issue even on the longest of drives. Doors were super easy to take off. All that was needed was a 13mm wrench or socket, I used a ratcheting wrench. This did have the door bags in the back so when I took them off I put the bags over the doors and used the carry handles. This one had the upgraded leather trimmed seats and carpeted flooring, I wish it had the MGV and rubber floor because that is what I had originally planned on specing on mine. I took a few pictures comparing it to my lifted xj on 35s, it is almost the exact same size. Bronco is just a few inches longer.

I’d prefer that Cherokee.
Trust me for a daily you would not lol. About 7 mpgs, vibration is nice for the back but not ideal for anything else, 0-60 eventually, won't hold the speed limit on hills. Off-road it's a beast though. The Bronco is better at probably 95% of anything you would come across. 99% of things most people would ever experience.

Oh for daily driving and practicality, the Bronco any day, I definitely agree with that. I just really like those Cherokees. I’m a Toyota guy, myself. Had a ‘88 w/ 38” Iroks, dual transfer case, 5.29 gears, etc….my top speed ever was 52mph going down a large hill. Haha, that think would crawl up just about anything. Learned my lesson and have a ‘04 4Runner w/4.7l v8. 35” Duratracs. Plenty of power.

Gotcha. I've had mine a few years and built it into what it is now. It's at the limit of small axels now though. Locked hp 30 up front with gusseted C'c and trussed and locked 8.8 in the back on 35x12.5s with diy beadlocks. Scared to go any bigger without making the move to tons. the thing is just a tank and I can't bring myself to get rid of it.

What was the process to drop the soft top all the way down, do you have to do anything special with the rear window panels???

Thanks for the update. The Bronco is a winner in so many ways. I really like the paint color on that one. After seeing and experiencing the upgraded leather trimmed seats and carpeted flooring, has your thinking changed in its favor, or do you still want the MGV and rubber floor. I guess it depends on how you'll use it. Based on your Cherokee and how much you love it, I'm guessing the latter.

Back and side windows have to come out before it can drop all the way. Undo the velcro and clips at the top, pop the sides out and they slide out of a channel on the bottom. Once they are out the top very easily flips back.

I will most likely go with the mgv and rubber floors. We have a 1 month old and likely another one coming down the road and being able to just hose the inside down is pretty appealing since it is slatted to be my wife's dd. The biggest downside imo is losing the power seats. It also saves over $2k though.
