Ok guys, the car makes makes right around 700 hp. I'm currently running a 3.27 and I plan to change it ASAP. My street set of wheels will have 315/30/18 tires on them which is about 26" tall. I'd like to also get a drag pack and run a 325/50/15 out back sooner or later which is a 28" tall tire.

Which gear between the 3.55 and the 3.73 would better suit my car?

Thanks in advance!

Good god. With 4.56's, I could prob take off in 3rd. Lol

Good to hear sledneck! I was just concerned about making 1st and 2nd both completely useless but I don't want to do this gear change more than once. How are the 3.73's on the highway? Still cruising easy at relatively low a RPM in 6th?

1st may still be shitty but good tires the rest you should be fine. Ya highway is still great. My coupe I just sold had 410's and it wasn't even bad on the highway to be honest.

Just what I wanted to hear! I was considering 4.10's but I want to keep it 100% streetable. I think I'd prob be happy with 3.55's but might as well go 3.73's while I have it open. I just know I need to ditch these 3.27's asap!

Ya 410's with that much power would be a little much, the 373's will put a smile on your face and still be perfect for dd manors!

I don't nearly have 700 hp but love the 3.55's and plan on keeping them. Since you already have 3.27's the 3.73's might work well. I don't think it's worth going from a 3.55 to a 3.73 though.

Yeah, I talked to a couple buddies and they plan to go 3.73 with theirs but not until they have an issue with the 3.55's if that ever even happens. Kind of why I don't think the change from 3.27's to 3.55's would be big enough to justify the cost. I think 3.73's from what I'm hearing will be the best option. The car is still nasty even with the 3.27's but I'd prefer to have the 3rd and 4th gears a little shorter. I know the 3.27's are ideal on a turbo car to stay in boost but with a twin screw, we don't have that issue.

3.55's. It puts you in the torque band a little more and these cars flat out love it. If you're going to change gears anyways then just change them to 3.55's.

I've had 3.55's, 3.90's, 4.10's, and now 3.73's and would go back to 3.55's if I had the money to do so.

Thanks for all of the responses fellas! All have been very helpful! Now I'm back on the fence between 3.55's and 3.73's. I guess I can flip a coin? Lol

Will the 3.73's still allow u to finish the 1/4 in 4th gear?

I'm trying to do this once and for all. Whichever I decide on will be staying in the car.

I just purchased a SRA that I'm going to build with 3.73's ... as I'm now planning on running a 28" tall tire in the future!

3.55's are an excellent gear for these 03/04 Terminators though....

I have run the 3.55, 3,73, and now the 3.90. I would go through the traps in 4th at about 6200-6300 with the 3.73 at ~130, with a 26" tire. The 3.90 and a 26" tire put me about 6500-6600 at ~130 in 4th. Depends on how high you plan on revving it in 4th and what your trap speed is. With your power a 3.73/28" tire combo would be fine. If you plan on running a 26" I'd say 3.55.

Thanks for all of the help fellas! With everyone saying how much they like the 3.55's, im tempted to just go that route. The only reason why i'm thinking 3.73 is so i can run a 28" tall tire when i get a drag pack for it. The car will have around a 26-26.5" tall tire on it for street use.

Im not sure what the car traps. I haven't had it to the track yet. I just got the KB 2.2 on it and had it tuned this past Tuesday at HPP in Dallas. The car made 680/677 on 21-22 lbs in 98* weather on e85.
