He's insecure. Hence why he's in a Mustang forum with that username and an almighty Evo. He's just a troll

Methinks he lacks kill stories of his own. Maybe one day he will grow a pair and make some, instead of talking trash on someone else's kill thread.

The SN95 vs your car is exactly what I would have expected. That old 5.0 can hold its own with 3.73 gears. I can barely edge a stock 2011+ V6 mustang out with my full bolt-on 1995 5.0. The V6 mustang is a great car, and it's supsension aftermarket is exactly the same as any other mustang... which I'd totally expect to out handle a 370z easily with the right spring/shock set up.

And I know my car spins through 2nd like crazy as well...and I have 315's out back...LOL.:rolling:

Lol, can't believe I missed this repsonse...so you think this exception is the rule now?! Have you ever been to AutoX, HPDE, cc, slolam racing or anything to that nature yto know what a nismo Z is really capable of?! Lmao...going to the tracking equiped with a v6 stang vs a nismo is like bringing a knife to gun fight. I really wouldn't need to be having this dicussion at all with an actual track rat vs a youtube surfer. Go to the track one day, ask around, do some first hand experience...I've embarresed quite a few v6 stangs at Hpde in my 5.0...guess who was right there on my ass, never letting up?! The 370/base/sport/ and nismo...many many occasion...so hard to shake off...properly driven the Z will always dominate a v6 stang...better off going up against a 350zDE at the track and even then it will have its hands full

Absolutely not true given the fact that the V6 mustang has a larger suspension aftermarket than the NISMO could ever fart out of it's tailpipes. The V6 actually has the capability to handle even better than your 5.0.

People forget all too soon that the V6 mustang is well...a mustang with an extremely large aftermarket giving it the capability to win in almost all categories of racing.

Lmao! Aftermarket support does not define a vehicle's performance standing...spoken like a true ford fanboy

Calling out all V6 local stangs...pm me...I'm sure we can find an event, I also have access to a 370Z....

VQ engines are junk...there is no other way to put it. They are poorly designed, can't hold any serious power, and simply don't last.

Every single VQ that has rolled in, be it a Pathfinder, Maxima, Z car, Altima, ect, burns oil so badly by 100K miles that owners need to add multiple quarts of oil between changes. Also doesn't help that they have low oil capacity in the first place. They drink oil like crazy.

And lets not get into the oil overheating that the 370Z experiences after less than 2 laps around any track because Nissan neglected to add any sort of oil cooler on a $40,000 car with a NISMO track package.

That being said...I think the 370Z (non-NISMO) is actually a great looking car, and the interior looks really nice as well. Saw a convertible one today and they are really eye catching, much better looking than the blob shaped 350Z.

Should I bring my Nissan Silvia??? In road racing aftermarket is everything! If you run stock, expect sloppy times if you are an average driver. A Griggs, or Maximum Motorsports suspension set up will absolutely wake an S197 mustang up. If a SN95mustang with a good aftermarket suspension set up can give an R35 GTR trouble, then I fully expect it to be much worse for the 370z.

It may be awhile before we can get together to run though seeing as how I currently live thousands of miles away in the land of the rising sun.

Your Silva?! NOW** that's more like...now your talking about a legend in the ring...but no bring a v6 stang. Ahh yes japan...I remember my 3 awesome years in that place (how is miss it). Anyway I guess your also assuming that your going to compare this suspension built up mustang to otherwise stock competition?! No no...Sorry/ Suspension mod per mod on the stang the Z will always win...I'm not even gonna bring weight into this. Let's just say I seen a 370 with weight reduction and some medium suspension work (not give trouble) but Beat an R35...of course once the R35 starts modding thing will change. But doesn't matter how much aftermarket a certain car has...there will always and forever be Platform limitions. And the stang has allot more the then the Z. That is unless you put enough coin into it that its basically a shell, and in that well, we'd no be talking about a mustang anymore.

Any one see which car is reigning champ in drift competitions atm? you would think being that is more of a ricer sport one of those brands would be standing top the podium, but they are not... Its a Mustang sponsor'd by Falken

More specifically the 5.0...NOT the v6er stangarang

ATM is not even close to the end all of drift performance. LMAO you got some serious blinders if you think mustangs dominate the drift scene. [email protected] Ricer sport too...Ill keep in mind anything other than a straightline in the VAST world of Motorsports is considered "ricer'

Never implied it was a v6 or v8 just said mustang. Again I never implied domination of the sport (although 52 point lead is pretty sizable) however, I do find it funny people try and bring up the mustangs short comings in non-straightline sports but the evidence points to the contrary. And I'm sorry but drifting "is" and ricer sport...

Modern drifting as a sport started out as a racing technique popular in the All Japan Touring Car Championship races. Motorcycling legend turned driver, Kunimitsu Takahashi, was the foremost creator of drifting techniques in the 1970s. He is noted for hitting the apex (the point where the car is closest to the inside of a turn) at high speed and then drifting through the corner, preserving a high exit speed. This earned him several championships and a legion of fans who enjoyed the spectacle of smoking tires. The bias ply racing tires of the 1960s-1980s lent themselves to driving styles with a high slip angle. As professional racers in Japan drove this way, so did the street racers.

Keiichi Tsuchiya (known as the Dorikin/Drift King) became particularly interested by Takahashi's drift techniques. Tsuchiya began practicing his drifting skills on the mountain roads of Japan, and quickly gained a reputation amongst the racing crowd. In 1987, several popular car magazines and tuning garages agreed to produce a video of Tsuchiya's drifting skills. The video, known as Pluspy, became a hit and inspired many of the professional drifting drivers on the circuits today. In 1988, alongside Option magazine founder and chief editor Daijiro Inada, he would help to organize one of the first events specifically for drifting called the D1 Grand Prix. He also drifted every turn in Tsukuba Circuit in Japan.

No one stated anything other than straightline is "ricer".... just that drifting is...

That all sounds great, I ve been to Japan and lived there for a long while, very aware of its history in motorsports. The mustang is doing OK, but its by no means a season legend or a pick of choice for top drifters. If anything, the 5.0 is leading that effort. The mustang doesnt even dominate straighline performance...i dont know any one car that clearly dominiates every dept of motorsports. But i do know what cars are more prone to succed in certain arenas and the mustang is barely getting its feet wet when in comes to "other than straightline" performance...they have come a long way...thats for sure

the 370 was honestly the biggest POS for the money I ever owned. In a straight line it was dead even with a bolt on mk.5 GTI. In The turns it was actually pretty good. But the reliability was crap. I lost third gear twice when that rev macthing computer would go in and out. At 30k it would have been a great car. When you pay 46k for a fully loaded convertible it is upsetting.

wait so when both cars were in gear and the V6 stang was still walking away that was the driver right? what was the guy shifting at 6000 rpm.

this is the truth. I've seen more boosted VQ35's blow up then i can even mention. VQ37's were better though.

Incorrect the mustang has been a very good road race car since the 1960s. After the dark ages of the late 70s to early 90s the mustangs found their way to Le mans thanks to Saleen. Those cars were on par with the porsches on the track. Newbs forget history... The Silvia is a newb.

Also don't forget the only reason drifting is popular is because of the crappy slick as ice coral roads in Japan. It's very difficult to drift on American roads versus crappy coral roads.

Mustang a newb to corners? Only to those who think good handling mustangs didn't exist before the mid 90's and before the first issues of super street were printed.
