We listen to the customers. We gave them longer suspension travel, the longest coils in the class bla bla bla. None that matters. No one outside the desert use these offroad. No one pinstripe them at the narrow forrest trails. Pavement cruisers are what they are. No one race them at the stoplight or strip like SVT Lightnings. They dont even rev their engines because whats the point? The gen 2 are silent like an EV. I roll the window down for any gen 1 at the stoplight just to listen to some V8. "Only" journalist trash Raptors offroad, and the only one dragracing them are the youtube channel TFL. Nobody need a limited production GT500 Raptor. In a Kamala world the price of gas will only to one way why not offer the 5.0 NA in Raptor and call it a day? Raptors are bought as factory lifted trucks for for their looks not to trash offroad. Just give them a V8 soundtrack to their lifted truck. I have not seen one dirty Raptor in real life.

Made it look like a Bronco Sport reveal of the 2021 Raptor drawing that R in the sand at the end.

Looks good. Like the trx I'll let others try out the weak points for the first year model.

Waiting on the potential R version and cost.

Pretty good video on the truck here,......
Pre-production model but said it should be really close to the one in the video.

I can see the aftermarket downpipes being called the "Rusty Trombone" upgrade.

"i have a cold air intake, rusty trombone exhaust and tune"

LOL has a good ring to it.

Give me the V8, and make it a supercharged 5.2 or 7.3 with the 10spd or gtfo.

Also... I like it a lot but do the headlights and side amber accent lights make it look like a turtle retracting it's head into the body? LOL. I think if I had it, I would lightly tint the middle rectangular section of the headlights and leave the 'L' shaped amber lights alone.

    1. Extended cab option?

    2. Will the 3.5 become the 5.4 of gen3?

Who really knows but I get the feeling the R will be like buying a CFTP. I can't see them deleting the ecoboost and only offering the 5.2

I think fords in for a rude awakening if the only make 1k R a year.
People will be buying the R and the TRX.
There’s already a ton of people passing on the raptor to buy the Tremor.

I don't know, I feel like the R will be mostly unobtainable. This is Ford we are taking about

It is. I would not be surprised if they mess it up!

    1. extended cab for the Raptor will not be a thing

    2. I doubt it. Everyone thought the 5.4 was anemic even back then. People bitch about the sound but the HO 3.5 performs well (minus the whole cam phaser thing)

Maybe the "new" 6.8 in supercharged form...just food for thought...and wishful thinking.

    Agreed.

If Ford does put a 5.2 S/C, I can see reliability being an issue.

Additionally, just look at the enormous price jump of the GT500 - a 5.2 Raptor will be in the six figures and will price out a huge swath of the Raptor fan boys.

Gotta remember, a Raptor is only a small premium over a comparably equiped F150.

New 6.8L pushrod motor could be cheaper, potentially more torquey, less high revving and more fitting for a heavier truck application, just saying.

This is why I am such a fan of the 7.3 idea, everyone gets their V8 and the cost does not have to be even more rediculous

You must live in a big city, they are used up here off pavement a ton. We will race anything, and probably break it while doing so

I'm just seriously not sure the 7.3L will pass Light Vehicle emissions.
