I know this has been brought up maybe a million times. But I am new to forced induction. But is it necessary to run 8 rib over 6 rib? Other than surface contact. I see everyone doing it and me being on a budget with this build and aiming for 450+ I'm really wondering if this is a necessity.

If you don't have any slip then don't worry about it as mentioned. I know you can pick up the needed pullies at a junk yard if you want to keep it budget friendly.

As stated at 450hp its not needed. If you are/were getting belt slip normally a better tensioner will fix that issue.

Not needed. Did you decide on a blower? What pulley size?
Yes I got a v1 non cooled. Found a ba 3000 maf and ford 42lb green tops. I have the factory pully and a smaller one with belts. As soon as I figure out the best way to put the oil return line in, I'm going to get this started. It's going to coat just below 600 for a dyno tune so I need to talk to them first and see if they want to use the stock pully or the smaller one. They dont seem hard to change but I am new to the forced induction stuff so I could be wrong also. Not gonna lie, looking at this kit is pretty intimidating, lots and lots of pcs!

Did it come with a powerpipe or the standard Vortech plastic inlet. If no powerpipe with the factory 3.6 pulley you'll make 7-8psi. That will not get you to 450rwhp. You have to find out what size the other pulley is. I would do a 3.33 pulley with powerpipe. That will get you about 10.5-11psi at 6500rpm.

FWIW, I picked up a couple pieces from CRX Racing and made my own "power pipe" for my F1A. I think it looked better than the Anderson I had previously. And it was a little cheaper.

I still run 6 rib on my setup (hopefully my signature shows). Belt wrap, a healthy, sprung tensioner and a Steigemeijer Constrictor Grip treatment on the pulley go a long way.

Yes it came with a power pipe. I will measure the pulley is later today and report back. I had the measurements for both but they still lay on my harley seat  so totally defeated the purpose of why I wrote them down.

As I sat here at work I don't really remember seeing a power pipe. Here is some of what I got. Sorry for the clutter, I have been working so much I havent had time to piss with anything yet. And the FMU is not being used....
