It's been a while since I've posted here so I thought I'd throw up the latest project I'm working on.

The vision... '66 Fastback powered by a Stack Injected 408w making ~600hp, Viper Spec T56 (2.66 1st, .50 6th) and a 9" with with 3.70's. Those ratio's will have it turning 1750rpm @ 80 mph....

November of last year, I picked up a rust free roller. It was disassembled in 2001 and an IFS was installed. After that, it set in the corner of the guys shop untouched until I bought it.

The first thing we did was smooth the firewall.

Wanted functional rear brake cooling ducts so we cut some vents in.

Also wanted a nice fat tire on the rear so we widend the wheel tubs 5" and added an Art Morrison subframe to fit the 335's under there. (don't mind the direction of the tires... long story about a dumb a** tire guy :bash:)

Next we add Aston Martin door handles.

Custom Cowl vents.

And custom fuel fillers, one on each side.

That's a start... I'll throw some more up tomorrow... :)

Wanting to keep the firewall nice and clean, I went with a reverse mount pedal set up.

The seats are Recaro Classic model C's.... These seats where an upgrade in BMW, Mercedes and Audi's in the late 70's early 80's. They have power back, air pump and 3 lumbar cells as well as being heated. They'll mount on Jag 6 way power bases. When all done, there will be 21 different adjustments... or something like that!! :lol1: The switch panel is missing from the seat in the shot above because Alan @ Speed of Sound is making some custom pieces to replace these old out dated ones. He does some awesome work!

The gauges are Classic Instruments.

We'll start on the dash once the engine compartment is finished.

The electrical system is the Infinity Box (formerly known as ISIS Power). Not much to it...

Love this build especially since you have the same ideas as me for when I build a pro-touring 68 fastback. What does the front suspenion set up consist of ? I like detroit speeds set-up but it's big $$$. Have you seen Maier's rear suspension set up ?

The previous owner installed a Rod and Custom set up with coil spings. We changed it over to Coil Overs and added Wilwood 2" drop spindles.

When I was looking at building this car, I considered the DSE front end but since this car already had the R&C, I just stuck with it. The Maier Extreme kit is a work of art but out of the buget. It's mostly going to be a cruiser but if it was going to be an all out competing Auto Crosser or Road Race car, those pieces would get it done for sure.

Wow, I'm jealous already! Thanks for posting it as you go through the build... can't wait to see the finished product.
