Interesting. I didnt think a lot would be gained due to the amazing head design from factory. The parts only, with minimal tuning changes yielded a 13 hp gain on his first pull. After TONS of runs and tuning changes they ended at 457 whp, which represents a 49 hp gain.
457whp out of a heads/cam swapped 7.3l motor is, well, ... I guess I'd be pissed.
Sure does sound good though!..... just like an LS powered GM.
When you compare it to the LS7 hp, it is underwelming, but the torque is really nice! I guess that is the trade-off the the stoke and cylinder differences. This would be a hell of an engine if it was offered in a factory hotrod.
