So I found out that my brother has an 1986 SVO solid rear sitting in the garage. I am thinking since it is 5 lug and disc brakes already, it shouldn't be that big of deal.:??:

yes but doesnt the svo have oddball brakes?
he just told me that they were rear disc.... I am not sure on that stuff
IIRC, the SVO had a 7.5 rear vs' the 8.8 we have in the Cobra.
I would pass I think it's narrower too.

All 84-86 SVO's used a 7.5" rear-end from the factory. I broke my stock one when I had my SVO with a whopping 230 rwhp. They aren't the strongest by any means ;-)
Disc brakes for those cars were "borrowed" from Lincoln... they were 11.XX something vented discs front and rear, but they were single piston calipers for both.
Nevertheless... it wouldn't be a wise idea to bolt that rear-end into your Cobra :-D
