I have a Race Red ‘99 Cobra hood near Toledo.
Also looking to sell complete car minus engine, IRS, rear amber tail lights.
T45 was recently rebuilt.

99-01 Cobras had functional vent for heat, the V6 hoods were solid. I'd take a V6 hood if available.

I never knew that

I don't remember my 01's being functional. Heat shield/hood mat/whatever you want to call it on the underside covered the whole thing.

The functional vent was the one in the middle of the hood?

Did you ever notice the vent piece having slots? The "functionality" of the can be questioned, but there was a slot behind it.

The vent piece may have slots, but there is no flow going on there. The hood blanket covers it completely and whatever slot is cut out on the hood is so the plastic vent can snap in place.

It would also end up being right over the belts.

Honestly, just pick a hood off a v6 and maybe save some cash.
