...that might be a Japan-only car. :( (Not that I'd ever afford it.)

Celebrating Ferrari's 50th anniversary in Japan, the J50 is a 488 Spider with 20 more horsepower and a very pretty targa body, limited to just ten units.

Designed by the Ferrari Styling Centre and created by Maranello's Special Projects department, each of the ten J50s will make the most of Ferrari's personalization program, while the show car itself wears Ferrari's special shade of three-layer red.

The designers went for a "helmet visor" effect with the windscreen to remind you of Ferrari's open top barchettas, while the black dividing line is straight off the 288 GTO, F40 and F50. The 488 Spider's folding hardtop was replaced by a two piece targa made of carbon fiber, which can be stowed behind the seats. To make the most of the open top experience, the 3.9 twin-turbo V8 was also dialed up to 690 horsepower in J50 tune.

It's a nice change from all the alien space crafts that are made these days

meh...While I like the targa. it looks rather plain or even outdated for a newer ferrari

That's the point though.

It's meant to evoke some classic Ferraris:

The designers went for a "helmet visor" effect with the windscreen to remind you of Ferrari's open top barchettas, while the black dividing line is straight off the 288 GTO, F40 and F50.

Since I'm a sucker for classic Ferraris, this one especially hits home with me.

Well, we know who's Google privileges will be revoked soon.

But seriously, it's not for me. Then again, no car over $1,000 is.

That is stunning! I really like it. I actually prefer this model, design wise, over most of their other models. I guess I like the minimal exotic look. Actually, if this were the new Ford GT, with a V8 of course, I'd be like.........
