Ordered a set of BPS cams to add to my car, should be in soon.
Now questioning if I should start using a different oil or not.

I'm currently running Amsoil 0W40, been using that for the last 4+years.
Car gets driven roughly 2500 miles/year.
Street driven.

Current mods are:
VMP Gen 2
2.4 Pulley
VMP 67mm throttle body
JLT 127mm CAI
170* thermostat
FIC 1000 injectors
VMP fuel pump boosters
Dynatech long tubes
Dynatech O/R H-pipe
Duel pass heat exchanger
93 octane + Boostane tune

Adding BPS NSR cams..

Would I be good keeping the same oil, or should I switch to a different weight.

Replacing your cams has no impact on your oil selection. If you've seen discussions involving oil and cam break in, that's geared toward flat tapper camshafts on pushrod engines. You can destroy a flat tappet cam and lifters with some of the newer eco friendly oils with lower levels of zinc and phosphorus. The flooding of cheap overseas knockoff lifters don't help the situation either. Ford OHC engines use roller type bearings on these critical surfaces, so it's not a concern. On initial firing, I would put the gas pedal to the floor and let the engine turn over for about 10 seconds. The engine will not start, but should push oil to the cam journals before start up. Using an assembly lube on the cam journals for the cam towers isn't a bad idea either.
