I keep seeing people who put holes in the bottom of their airbox and claim a 1-2 psi increase with this mod with a K&N (?). I don't want to shell out for a CAI yet so maybe this will hold me over until summer. Does anyone have any pics and instructions on how to do this? I tried searching for it and couldn't find any how-to's. I would like to do it later today/tonight so please post them if you do. Thanks!

cut one big hole and run a scoop at the bottom of the front bumper via a tube into it......that is a proven mod that works fairly well

Ok, thanks! So you don't just cut holes in the bottom of the airbox only? Do you have any pics on how to do that?

Take the air box off, take the botom section, and cut the whole bottom out of it on the passenger side. No picts, but easy to figure out once you take it off. Or do what he said up top, cut a larg hole and fit a dryer hose and scoop for a ram air.

Unless your highly modified...Besides being a little bit louder...It
won't make that much difference.Your also cutting up a perfectly
good airbox that you might want to resell or resell with your L in
the future.I still have the stock box with a TrueFlo drop in....

Baaa, that's like telling someone not to buy a exhaust for a Lightning. The stock exhaust is very free flowing, (except the stock cats) and effiant up to about 500whp, so why spend all that money on exhaust that wont improve power much at all if any? Becouse it sounds good. And it feel good to mod you truck, and make it your own. jmo

I gained right at a lb of PSI by cutting a hole in the bottom of the box w/ K&N... That's a tad bit more power in my book. Everything will add up in the end. And plus it didn't cost anything.

I used a 3 inch hole saw and cut a hole in the bottom of mine. Then I ran a hose and scoop to front.

It did make the supercharger a little louder so it was worth that if nothing else. When I get a PSP Fast Air, I am going to keep the stock box in the attic in case I ever need it.

Thanks for your responses. In the summer does it run hotter if I were to cut a hole in the bottom?
