Blushing Urges
taronis c '01

I saw your exquisite sun tanned flesh
Dripping, shivering, after your splash
I saw you walk and shake less sodden
Oh the image stays with me unforgotten

I saw your long and subtle limbs
As you shaved them soft and pink
Then you saw me and quietly smiled
Soap and lake water in a flirting trickle

As you smiled I did not go
By your smile you invited my attention
Lurid urges I had back then
Watching your hair in that summer wind

Though we never spoke that day
You knew what I thought and would not say
I dared not stand in your full view
Tight drawn shorts wet with dew

It took me days to speak your name
It took me hours my loins to tame
But I took that step in an August rain
And spoke to you just the same

I was waiting for a punch line... But once I realized it was a real poem, I liked it. Good one.

That’s very exotic, Ted

Your new poem jarred my memory and made me recall that you were the creator of the following poem…………

I was acquainted with a couple and at that time he was sufferings with stomach cancer and short of two weeks to die. She on the other hand was within days of leaving him. She had found another.

Three weeks ago I showed her the poem; Still Love Me. I told her this is how he felt and to search her heart and stay and say nothing for those extra days.

Thanks to your words he lay in sleep forever, a few days later and she was by his side.

I am thankful I had remembered your poem and that your soulful words had saved him from a grim and lonely death.

On behalf of Dan………………….Thank you

one for Adam

My Cigar
Taronis – ‘00

Dark and brown of hand-picked leaves
A wonder to hold, so gentle yet so lethal
A spark ignites and gives forth life
A long draw of its spirit fills me with contentment
Relieving me in full relaxation
Killing me gently in tobacco smoke and laughter

and one for hope

Unforgotten and Forgiven
Taronis – ‘02

Some days I scream, let me go! This is too hard!
And I beg for release, pray for death
Other days are warm and hopeful
All, now, a bit less bright
For some of me has passed

They came in a flash
Filled our days with cherished work
With a glow only children can bring
Reached for my hand, then for the sky
And off now, practically men!

Now I am facing a later age
I am full of life with measures of fear
She, with me for a long sweet time
The one, my wife, my dear
It is her I have to please

I pray for strength and for good days
The Lord, busied with current events
A mournful world, coldly laments
His ear, somehow less responsive
Faintly hears my plea amid the din

Forsaken not by my God
Though less thoughtful of Him, I
Worthless and undeserving, plead
For happy days, for all we need
And He, forgives

I am honored. I printed it out and will frame it. Thank you.
