I'm on a bit of a budget to say the least... :bash: was wondering if any "anti- sludge/ internal " engine cleaning products actually work? My terminator is hitting the 130k mark.. I bought it with 80 and have always used synthetic don't know what the previous owner used...

the question is why do you think you have sludge?

personally there are only 2 products that I know work. kerosene and transmission fluid.

pour 1qt of kerosene in oil and run for about 10 mins at idle

or run 1qt of transmission fluid for 15 mins

then drain oil and install new filter. I sometimes also recommend to leave the drain plug out and run 3-4 qt of just some cheap brand oil through motor after this to inspect for more dirty oil and debris coming out.

but again why do you think you have sludge?

I'm not a person to suggest harsh chemicals or shock treatments. To be honest you'd be better off running a short OCI (1500 miles or less) Of Pennzoil Ultra. It has one of the best cleaning additive packages. That and a good oil filter should clean it up a fair bit. After that run a quality synthetic and you should be good to go.
