I briefly read a few posts in the other job title thread in here and it made me wonder.

I'm an operator in an alkylation unit at a small refinery. We only charge around 100k barrels a day and my units do around 12,000k a day. Before this I was a power plant operator and before that I was an LDAR contractor.

Anyone else? what kinda plant and what do yall make there?

I work at a butter plant. Nearly 9 years, pay is good for my location and only work 12-14 days a month. I operate a Hassia machine that makes buttercups!

Is your Alky unit sulfuric or HF? I did LDAR, leak repair and technical bolting for about five years with Team Industrial.

Sounds similar to my schedule. I do 12 hr shifts as well. 4 weeks 6am-6pm, then 4 weeks 6pm-6am.

I nearly started out nights for the +15% premium but after talking to the incoming night shift during our pass down I'm not sure i could do it. Alternating like you do sounds even harder.
