Anybody have or know where to find good info on an LS1 T56 swap? (pics)

Anyone know where to go for this. Believe it or not, you can't hardly search any boards with "T56" or "LS1" because the words are too dadgum short.




Tremec verified the model over the phone. For a swap you'd need a new bellhousing, input shaft, tailhousing to move the shifter foward, and adapter plate I think.

Depends on if they are worth about the same. If it's only 250 bucks to swap, I would definitely consider it.



Plus, shipping for this thing would be outrageous. It's freakin heavy!

Youd probably be better off getting a Cobra trans, and putting in it. The shifter location is wrong, the input shaft is different if im not mistaken, along with other things.

I read it, i was just saying it may be easier to use a Cobra trans. Im dont know too much about taking apart the T56 but with the difference in shift location, i would think its more in depth than just bolting on a different tailhousing.

Call me crazy, but I'd like to swap to an LS1 T56 also. It would put our shifter where it should have been to start with and I prefer the hydraulic clutch setup.
