Base GTR is $99,990.

We are talking about MSRP of vehicles. Just FYI, my insurance doesn't go up 3% a year, might wanna change companies.
I'm an insurance agent.

Ever year they file for a 3-4% inflationary increase. If yours is staying the same, it's like due to cars getting older or your risk is being reduced.

Inflation is 3% roughly on average.

We looked at a 6 year window.

Prices usually go up 3-5% every 2 years on cars, or up to 10% with a new generation.

Gtr: started at $75k in 2006 or whenever. Now $105k. Bang on ~3% a year. Not that it was exactly 3% each year, but over time it averages out to that.

Mustang cobra.

•1996 msrp $27k. 305hp
•2003 msrp $32k. 390hp 3% average gain
•2007 gt500. 500hp New gen, Shelby name, big price jump to $45k in 07. Substantial updates though. Inflation would have kept that car at $38k otherwise.
2013 gt500. 662hp $55k base price. 3% annual gain bang on from 2007

The 2019 gt500 750hp, might start at $65-70k, would still be a monster value.

Consider that in 2007, a 480hp gtr was $75k. 11 years ago.

03 MSRP was $35.5k for a no option svt Mustang.

2011 "Base" GT500 MSRP was $49,495
2014 "Base" GT500 MSRP was $54,995

That's an increase of $5500, or 11.11% over 4 years...which is 2.7% a year.

So it basically increased along with inflation...then charged $2,200 for the trinity motor, instead of staying with a 5.4L. Not too shabby.

Fords pricing game has overdelivered vs inflation.

A Big Mac index was $2.36 in 1996

In 2014 it was $4.62

In 2018, it is $5.51

A cobra was $28k in 96
A gt500 was $55k in 14
A gt500 Likely $65k in 18.

28k to $55k is less than double, barely. 96-14, and 2.36 to 4.32 is less than double, barely for the Mac.

28k to 65k is about 230%, and 2.36 to 5.51 is roughly 250%.

The gt500 at $65k is a better inflationary value than a Big Mac over a 22 year period.

Stick that in a pipe and send it.

Y'all can't even agree on the base price of cars released years ago, but arguing price point possibilities on a car that won't be released for another year. Smh

But Can’t you get 2 Big Macs for $5.00 right now????
Actually, Burger King has 2 Whoppers for 6 bucks.
I plan on having 2 for lunch after I tear it up bodybuilding in the morning. (One plain hamburger for Bella, my Miniature Schnauzer.)

Just saw a video clip of it testing at Utah Motorsports Park. Judging on how the shifts sounded, it was equipped with a slushbox automatic! :'-(
