becareful playing online. i heard they are blocking ps3 machines from the PS network for early hackers.

i tried it for 2 rounds and just play the missions now.

I say play online as much as you like. You bought it fair-and-square from a Walmart (so you say). It isn't you're fault, it's theirs.
