How would I go about keeping my stock coolant recovery tank and lower radiator hose with the original lower hose set up? I run a reische 170 and love the way it works

The main reason for me doing this is to get rid of the cross over tide so I can remove my alternator easily due to the kenne bell also I have methanol nozzle that I have under the blower so I have to remove the alternator to access it

There are several options I can think of for adapting the factory upper hose to AN lines.

The easiest with this kit... Leave the lower hose and factory thermostat housing as is. Run the new upper thermostat housing empty.

That’s my current set up if I can get the 2 fittings with both sensor holes and then Y it into the upper radiator hose that would be easy but what about that middle hose from the crossover tube?

What about the middle hose coming down off the crossover tube?

does cobra engineering make anything for you?

that bypass line can be a huge pain in the ass. If you wanna keep the factory housing and Reisch thermostat youd just need to find a way to cap off the bypass line connection - BUT - if you dont have the bypass will that thermostat still function correctly?

i run a 180 stat in my on3 delete kit (cobra engineering wasnt out yet) with a GT lower hose trimmed to fit.

Why do you want to keep the factory thermostat?

You could get a GT lower hose and put an inline housing in the lower hose but at that point you might as well use the housing in the upper hose from the On3 kit.

Ok so if I do away with the factory thermostat and do the 160 on3 thermostat in the upper housing and a gt lower hose would that do away with that middle hose?

Do you have any pictures of your set up also are you running the stock overflow expansion tank with it? I’d love to see how you have your lower hose set up and upper so I have a reference I’ll be doing this over the late fall/winter

i'll see if I can find em on my phone later.

Im running a moroso tank now just for looks, had a stock tank for a while. The lower hose is literally a 99GT lower hose, where it connectors by the oil filter gets trimmed a little to correct the length/angle and thats all it took (I dunno what your oil filter/coolant adapter looks like in comparison)

That’s all I would need? Removes all the lower thermostat housing and bypass of the 4v cobra stuff correct then just get the on3 upper thermostat housing and the dual port kit

you need to compare your oil filter cooler to mine to see if the neck for the coolant hose is in approximately the same place. If so that sounds about right. I think I trimmed a piece of my stock upper hose to put the on3 housing into up top.

With this crossover delete do you notice and difference in temps? Without the bypass since it doesn’t allow head flow until the thermostat opens

The common practice is to drill a few 1/8" holes in the thermostat.
