I oppose the death penalty because it implies that only the government gets to determine who lives and dies. That is some hard core big government shit if you think about it.

I brought up abortion because it is a core belief of conservative people that abortion is just murder by another name. If you are prochoice then you can't identify as conservative. If you believe that unrestricted illegal immigration is acceptable then you must be a liberal.
However if you have deadbolts on your doors there may be a chance you really don't completely agree that with position.

I understand this is confusing. What I mean is if this your basis for supporting it I am not going to convince you otherwise. It is a perfectly fine reason to support the wall.

Yeah, no. Do you own property? you di are you OK with the gubbmint telling you what you can and cannot do with it?

Save the ****ing insults. You are the guy that works for the federal government talking about small government? LOL.

Yeah, I dont know about that. Take religion out of the picture and no one cares about abortion. All of the conservatives I know are not religious and do not care about abortion.

What is the argument against abortion if you are not religious? Honest question.

Who hands down the death penalty? Cmon Klaus...this is an underhand pitch for you. It starts with a J, 4 letters, typically 12....

If me saying you are naive is an insult, I must have struck a nerve. I wasn't attempting to insult you. It's like saying you are ignorant on the mass migration issue. It's not an insult, it's the truth. You eat up the press that feeds your beliefs and that's that.

I am for small government. My Agency is actually quite small relatively. We really got things under control after expanding a decade ago and were at some serious low numbers. Then people like you come along that either allow crap laws to exist, prevent bans that would solve the issue, or say they don't care because you're blind to it, and were worse off than we wore 15yrs ago. How much ya wanna bet they expand our agency again when a simple travel ban and law change would stop the influx? So your position will grow the government. Same with health care.

    Way to go Klaus!

Wow, turn your back on this thread for a minute and it just explodes....

MGOh3, I really enjoy your first hand accounts of what's going on out there. And definitely give them huge credibility as to what you are experiencing on the border. My comment is not about border situations but more about google info.

Everyone uses other sources for info because they can't witness everything in the world first hand. The problem, just as common in conservatives as liberals, is using single or a small number of questionable sources. Like AOC's twitter or a radical alt-right conspiracy website. Neither will do much good for truth but still are spouted by some because it fits their views.

A responsible person checks multiple sources. A google search yields dozens, if not thousands of sources for answers. If you were to go to one hundred sites and 90% give the same conclusion you are more likely to have a usuable answer. But, since a that collective answer might not agree with someone's opinion they will tend to quote the bullshit one.

Naivety would be refusing to use online resources to help a person make the best decisions. Using first hand experience also gives a limited view of only a small piece of the whole pie. Doing either would be the definition of sticking one's head in the sand.

By the way, I mean no disrespect to you. That picture in NWS the other day showing a couple dozen 20 year old guys climbing the wall with the BP guys waiting on the other side is enough to make a guy puke. As Rand Paul said the other day, quit offering incentives for that behavior and maybe they won't show up as often. I can't imagine how you guys working that job do it day in day out. The futility of catching them only to see them released would drive anyone crazy.

LOL! Circumlocuting the crap out of everyone to protest circumlocution. Very funny. Made my day.

And yet you work for big government. My point on naivety is the irony of you making the case. Big government is your sugar daddy, the least you can do is not pretend this is not the case. If you believed in the free market you would be in the private sector

One less mouth to feed on welfare and one fewer body to incarcerate.

For sure, some people need killing. The fact that only the government gets to do it rubs me the wrong way. It sounds like you are the big government guy on this topic, not me.

@mgoh3 I will second this and will be the first to admit you know better than me about what is going on in your world. Similarly, you know nothing about me or what a day in my life is like so do not pretend that you do.

I will say that the story of the three blind men and the elephant comes to mind on this topic. If you are not familiar, it is about three blind guys describing an elephant to each other and the quickly get into an argument. One is feeling the trunk and describes the elephant as long and thin. The other is feeling its ear and describing it as floppy. The other is feeling the leg and describes it as big and strong.

Why do I bring this up? Your experience as a BP on the el paso border is like describing just the trunk of the elephant. Everything you say is absolutely true, but is not the whole story. Similarly my obsession with property rights on separation of powers is like describing the leg. It is true but not the whole truth. Do us both a favor and recognize this without being a dick about it

I am in the private sector as well.

I regularly question expenses that I feel are wasteful or not required.

I don’t believe in constant expansion of the government. Again, your position will result in more BP Agents being hired. Mark my words.

Guess what Klaus. I’ve worked in every Sector on the southern border in my 15yrs. Any questions, ask away.

The land rights issue isn’t what you make it out to be.

Ya I hear ya on the online source stuff. I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again, getting information second hand can be very misleading. Leave one word out and a laypersons interpretation can totally flip.

Funny thing is a fence isn’t the answer. The current uptick of @300% is due to the travel ban Klaus’ party got blocked.

Now his party just voted to allow illegal immigrants to vote. Luckily the senate shut it down.

Came here to see a non-liberal (yeah right) from Minnesota of all places school a border patrol agent about the facts involving the border issues. All while said agent has boots in the dirt daily.
I got what I came for.
I thank you MGOh3 for your efforts to help keep our Country safe.

Such an easy fix and it’s literally free.

Dems won’t let it happen though.

that's why there are 60 eminent domain cases outstanding from the 2006 fence act? you seem to think eminent domain refers to permission for BP to access your land. it means something else.

We may have crossed paths. I worked with bortac and helped with their selection courses which they modeled after our army course.

The border situation was critical during Clinton and a down right emergency if national security, human trafficking, drug sources, and abuse of our social welfare, education, and medical system matter.

    OK Bozos, stop clowning around.

Don’t know what to tell you. I make decisions when I buy property. I would consider buying land on the border a very poor one.
