Dyno Shootout 2015[/h][h=3]817RWHP is the Winning Number![/h]
Mustang Week 2015 marked the 3rd Annual Battle at the Beach Dyno Shootout co-sponsored by Muscle Mustangs & Fast Fords Magazine and Pro Dyno: Carolina's Leader in Ford Performance!
On hand for this years event was the Pro Dyno crew as well as the MM&FF Magazine crew, consisting of Henry De Los Santos, Mark Houlahan, Agustin Jiminez, and Michael Essex, who has been with the shootout since the beginning! MM&FF took the reigns of choosing our competitors, the horsepower range they were looking for, as well as grabbing footage of the event, and giving out subscriptions of their magazines to the crowd!
As in years past, Mustang owners send in pictures and details of their Mustangs to MM&FF to be considered for the competition. Once a pool has been decided upon, contestants are then contacted prior to Mustang Week to make sure their cars are ready to hit the rollers and given details of the upcoming competition.
The morning of the event starts very early for the Pro Dyno crew, as they arrive early to get their mobile Dynojet chasis dyno setup and everything in place for the competition to begin. Contestants start lining their vehicles up around 8 am before an owners meeting, that takes place at 9am with Pro Dyno owner and calibrator Dan DeSio. "Each vehicle will get 2 dyno pulls for the competition," Dan tells them. "You will get a 5 minute break in between each pull for the vehicle to cool off, or to make any adjustments that you need to make; Good luck!"
Unlike years in the past where numbers were not displayed, horsepower and torque will be broadcast live from the event with the winner announced immediately after the competition ends. "Why make the people wait until the article comes out in December? That makes no sense," says MM&FF editor Henry De Los Santos.
With each driver prompted and their cars ready to go, it was time for the 2015 Battle at the Beach: Dyno Shootout, to begin!2015 Battle at the Beach Contestants
