It’s polar vortex time in Michigan so it’s also the perfect time to completely overhaul the engine bay/brakes on my TT DSG Termi. Much like most of you I’m BIG on attention to detail but I cannot stand overkill when it comes to accent colors. I like tasteful with a splash of color in the right places. Then again sometimes just a variety of silver tones with no color make for a really classy presentation. For sure I know I have the following colors/textures: Gloss DSG Polished metal Satin aluminum Various Satin and gloss blacks Which final color(s) should I introduce? I should also add that I’m not a standard red/ ford blue guy. If I’m adding a color I want it to be unique. Here’s the bay I’m working with. Blank slate. I’ll be removing most if not all metal visible for either powder or polish to include both intakes, valve covers, all brackets, coolant tubes, the works.
Last year I did my mystic in all bronze chrome (satin, flat and gloss) to accentuate the root beer tones in evening light
If any of you other DSG guys with detailed bays feel like dropping a pic please feel free! Sent from my iPhone using svtperformance.com
I like black, this was before I moved the battery to the trunk. Sent from my iPhone using the svtperformance.com mobile app
^^^ I really like the black accents throughout your engine bay, including the blower. The red battery is a nice touch, too.
Harpellautofab.com his products are top quality and he can pretty much make them in any color combo. He makes some other trick pieces for our cars as well. Sent from my iPhone using the svtperformance.com mobile app
Still need to have the piping to the TB redone and get it all powder coated something similar to dsg. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
all very clean looking! Keep em coming guys! Nobody likes pops of color to go with their sinister blacks and grays? I'm having two sets of cam covers powdercoated right now (Orange pearl and bright Atlantic blue) to see which ones mesh best
maybe if I had some other theme going...I did the VCs to match the shaker then did everything around that. I'm basically leaving the polished head unit as the thing to stand out
Too bad they couldn't close the gap around the hood latch, but I understand why it's there based on the stamped piece.
There was a BADASS '03 DSG back in the day for sale on here. The whole engine bay was dolled up. And I thought I had pics saved of it, can't find em Stainless Steel braided lines Polished Chrome are the best accent colors for DSG
