We too bought an appliance package. 2 years old the mother board on the stove went south. Tech comes out diagnoses the stove, then calls his company. They say it exceeds the repair limit, and will send a check. The wife is the one who got to experience this visit. I get home and she explains. I said is it replacement cost or what? She didn't know. I could see a screwing coming. So we take a ride down to Lowe's and the manager couldn't answer my questions in front of half a dozen other costumers. The manager had a brand new stove installed the next day for us to use in the meantime while the matching new stove came in. Lowes took the heavily discounted check the warranty company sent and accepted that for payment 8 weeks later. Lowe's did their job. The third party warranty company sucks six way to Sunday. Also never ever buy Whirlpool again! Whirlpool sucks. Whirlpool dropped the ball with with parts support. Did I mention whirlpool sucks?
My experience with Lowe’s warranty was similar. Third party that Lowe’s reps schedule for you. My rental home refrigerator was leaking water. Google said it is a common issue and I thought it would be corrected quickly.
The repair people came to my residence, not my rental. Trouble ticket had correct address on it and I’m like you’re at the wrong house you should be 3 hours up north right now.
Called to complain and get service ASAP. Since my rental is in a remote location, next appointment was 3 weeks. 3 weeks later tech goes out and tries to unblock a line and ends up breaking the freezer liner.
I lost my shit with the incompetence and escalated with Lowe’s to cash me out for a new refrigerator because my in-laws live in the home and need a working refrigerator.
5 days later I got approved for reimbursement.
The bad news is I bought an appliance package and got steep discounts. I waited for the best deal for the same refrigerator and it cost us 300 more than what we paid 3 years ago. I bought the 5 year plan since we have no choice but at least we know now what to expect.
