What is the best exhaust for the 2nd gen Lightning? For sound? Performance? Does anyone have the flowmaster system? Exhaust will most likly be my first mod to the lightning. :coolman:
unless you get one chamber flows and a x-pipe go with a magnaflow catback. The flowmaster catback is not that loud. I ran it on my 00 for a while and was quiet. The tips look nice but that is it.
Silver Bullit for price and sound Bassani is good for added weight (nearly twice as much as SB) and for clearing out your wallet. :uh oh: (had them both)
I went with a pair of welded in Magnaflows and some 3.5" black chrome on stainless steel tips. I love the sound, and the throttle response felt better. Here are the pics: \ I've got a video clip, just have no way to post it.
You need to get 2 one chamber racing Flows with H pipe and you should be good. That's what I'm switching over from the Borla I have. :coolman:
Thank you all. I am looking for one that sounds a little louder than stock but will not drive me nuts after a month. Also price is a huge factor.
I would never put Flowmaster's on anything, worst exhaust in my opinion. I went with the Bassani BX series and I got it for right around $400 new from Mark at LFP. Magnaflow is nice, but it sounds the same no matter what you put it on, you can always tell when a car or truck has magnaflow exhaust. I Borla sounds pretty good as well, and it is cheap.
sound clips of my dual one chamber race flows with x pipe: http://www.nloc.net/forum/showthread.php?s=&threadid=76703 http://www.nloc.net/forum/showthread.php?s=&threadid=79210 I might experiment Friday by cutting off the back cats (O2 sensors are turned off in program) to see if tone is changed. Buddy tells me that it sounds perfect like it is. Later
