Best oil for 96 cobra with Reische 170 thermostat?

Hey guys, currently have a fully built N/A 96 cobra sitting in a 35th anniversary body, just trying to see what oil I should be running with a 170 thermostat if not the recommended 5w-20. And I would also like to know why I need to run different oil and the benifits. Thanks a lot guys

T-stat has no bearing on oil choice.

Just run any high quality synthetic

Pennzoil ultra platinum
Mobil 1

They're all so similar.

Saw your other thread. So where did you even hear that your thermostat has a bearing on what oil you use in your '96 Cobra?

Was asking cause I saw some people running 10w-30 due to lower temps lmao, just wanted opinions haha

If you are in a warm climate and want a little more protection (slightly thicker)- you can try 5w-30.

I would never run a 10w oil in a mod motor.
