Fruit punch? New concept to me, go on...
Can't really say I invented it, but it goes along the line of a rum runner/rum with fruit punch. I like making 151 Rum Runners, so I tried it with whiskey, and it tastes good!
Secret is the punch. Can't use fake stuff, so for all my mixers I like the juice from the company "Simply". I use their fruit punch for rum runners and this whiskey drink. They use real juice and cane sugar.
Whiskey Runner
10oz lowball glass, double shot of your favorite high proof (100 or so, not 80) bourbon, 5oz of cold Simply Punch (shake vigorously before pouring VIP) or pour just enough to leave room for two ice cubes, stir, and add two big ice cubes, let them melt for about 10mins before drinking. You want them to temper that high proof alcohol, and chill the drink.
I find 80 proof too watery for my tastes when using ice. Optional is to add the juice from a quartered slice of lime.

We bought some homemade "puncha" while in Mexico. Got it at a small family liquor store in a recycled milk jug, was delicious, assumed tequila based. Got wasted at a party we threw with our hosts!

I like it more than anything Jack makes, or any other "bottom shelfers". $38 for 100 proof BIB 1.75L. Good taste and strong.
Woodford Reserve Double Oaked is a winner, big time.
Was able to snatch this the other day from a local Jewel. Was unbelievably surprised finding this in a Jewel, so good.
