Brembo 4-piston calipers and '98 Cobra wheels

I wanted to get some Brembo 4-piston calipers, but I also wanted to use my 98 17x8 Cobra wheels if possible.

I thought I read somewhere in these forums that there were a few people running this configuration. Apparently the 98 wheels are the only 17x8 wheels that would clear the calipers.

Any know if this is true?

i dont mind bringing my car around to find out. id like to know this too for snow tire purposes. i get tired of swapping calipers in order to put the bullitt wheels with blizzaks on.

The 2000 cobra R's use the 98 cobra wheel/tire as the spare. I have never bolted mine up, but have always assumed it fit.

My street tires that are on my car now are chromed '98 wheels.

The tape on wheel weights just barely clear the calipers by about 1/8".

So the actual "spokes" of the wheel clear the calipers?

If I recall, the '98 Cobra brakes and rotors are the same as the 03's, correct?

I use to run the '98 rims on my '97 Cobra with Brembos and had no clearance issues. The '98 rims are the only 17x8 rim that will clear the big brakes. :thumbsup:
