It's been a little over two years since I bought my Bullitt with a blown motor. Living alone with almost no garage space and an unpaved driveway has made progress pretty slow. I've mostly been gathering parts, reading, researching, making then changing plans the whole time. Simply moving the car around has been one of the biggest obstacles. Just unloading it off the Uhaul trailer resulted in near disaster when it got away from me and smashed into the garage. Over the last two weeks or so, I've made some actual progress.

What are your plans for it? The IRS and Cobra engine look like a good start.

Great save! Is that engine from a '99 or '01 Cobra?

Wow, you surely are working in really adverse conditions there. That means slower progress, but you'll get there. Is your Bullitt in your garage for the winter? I would assume so. Man, really tight work space there. Keep us posted on your progress.

01 Cobra engine in an 01 Bullitt is ideal. Love it.

    A couple things of note.
    1. Cool project. Any plans for boost or just enjoy it NA?
    2. Pro tip from someone who spent most of their life working outside in gravel driveways. Get a couple pieces of plywood to work off of.
    3. I thought Bullitt's didn't have GT badges?
    4. Never ever ever stand a block up like that. If those stands slip a little it'll split that block in half in an instant. They have 0 strength standing up like that. All the strength is in it laying horizontal. They are designed to split the way you have them with a brick hammer, and that New Edge has a little more weight to it than a brick hammer. Not preaching but would hate to see something happen to you or you car.

No shame in your working conditions. I've put together a roller 99 cobra into a running and driving car with a similar workspace. Excited to see further progress!

FWIW, maybe you already know about it. Helped me a ton when I had mine:
    BULLITT Archive Home Page

    Good luck with your mods!

EDIT: Appears the BULLITT hologram sticker is missing from the drivers side shock tower.
A second identical sticker is beneath the rear seat on the pan crossmember.

You can request a replacement from Ford for the shock tower. That's if none of the previous Owners had done it...

A 2x12 cut into 12” pieces and then stacked and screwed together works great for resting the car onto.

I keep changing my plans. The ultimate goal is to Upgrade the suspension and make it a well rounded fun to drive car. As for the engine, I'd like to get the power up, but I'm torn between keeping the 2v in the Bullitt because it's a Bullitt, putting some work into the 4v to bring the power up and doing a Coyote swap. Each one seems to have it's pros and cons. I'm going to tear into the 2v and try to figure out why it stopped running. If it's an easy fix, I might just get it back in the car and try to get it on the road while I get some of the work done on the Cobra moor.

My "plans" have included just about everything under the sun. I'd like to see around 400hp to the wheels (just an arbitrary goal to meet the current Mustang GT's power figures) and there's many ways to do that.
Thanks for the tips. As for the cinder blocks, I needed to get the suspension up to clear the bell housing on the trans, I was like an inch too low to roll it under the K-member. I don't expect them to keep the car up if the jack stands fail, but I figured they could help keep the car a little more stable while they were keeping the suspension from drooping. Thanks for pointing that out, I'll find a better way next time.

Also, it's a 1999 Cobra motor and while the Bullitt sticker under the hood was hand scrubbed by the previous owner, the sticker under the seat says it's #3970. B5238620-2753-4D93-A741-8686744FE925.jpeg

I’m blind, is it DHG or black?

At some point in the next couple years, i want to build a 4v bullitt. Leave it NA and do cams when the motor is out. Its actually a dream build for me.

    It's black.

2001 Total production numbers of each color:
    • Dark Highland Green – 3041
    • Black – 1819
    • True Blue – 722

It's black, but it's going to need paint. It must have spent a lot of time out in the sun in California before I bought it. You can see how bad it is on the front bumper and hood scoop here. If I could do anything to the body, I'd get a shaved 03/04 Cobra rear and 99/01 Cobra front bumper. I'd also like to get some 10.5 Bullitt replicas for the rear once I get the IRS rebuilt and installed. EC9A6153-1904-41B0-8E49-364264CDCEC8.jpeg
