    A few pics...

That's a Steeda cold air. Picked-up a roll of 2" wide self adhesive heat reflective from Jeg's. Not sure what the "cloth" like material is under the foil on top. Yeah, yeah, I know, the air moves so fast threw the pipe it doesn't have time heat-up. Now, tell me what happens when you sit in stop and go 5 mph traffic for 45 minutes to an hour. Anyway, for people that like to work on their cars it just gives you another project to enjoy.

Paid out the a$$, but I'm dig'n the carbon fiber engine cover. They offer two types, I picked the one that will allow for an aftermarket intake. The ST badge comes with the cover and you can apply it where ever you chose. That ST badge is bigger than the factory one on the hatch. In general, I'm not a fan of engine covers at all, but I think this beats the hell out of that plastic POS from the factory.

:poke:***I noticed that Steeda doesn't tell'ya about the fact the hood prop rod isn't going to fit like It did with the stock set-up. I'm not going to cut the rubber gasket to make the prop rod fit back in the stock location. I'm sure this thing leaks enough air as it is. I doubt if it's sucking 100% cold air from the grill. I found that the prop rod sits on top of the battery box just fine. It stays-put when you drive around. So far with about a thousand miles I haven't noticed any wear on the box top or the cold air box.*****

Plenty of room for the prop rod with no rubbing on my new engine cover. The rod doesn't travel back toward the firewall it rests against the cold air box. It feels like it's under tension.

Third paragraph down with the first set of pics above will tell you why. I'll post a pic of it tomorrow.

Think'n about a carbon fiber hood. Might help off-set the extra weight of my heavier aftermarket skid plate.

Maybe a set of these flares. Then I can run some real meats.

Speaking of that skid plate (that I need to install!) Found a handful of Ford oval stickers fairly cheap. Figure I'll need a handful considering it faces the road... :-D

better get out that credit card... running THAT wide flare kit with the suspension mods, cutting of the sides of your car (yes you have to cut 2" out of the sides of the car with a saw) and the wide meats youll need is going run you around $4000. And you wont get the AP flares in carbon fiber... ever again.

You went past the post. Too far up. The post with the engine pics.

Here's the pics, as you can see it isn't going to fit. It may look close, but you just can't push it down for it grab the rod holder. The above post will tell you why I don't want to MAKE it fit.

If I ever change-over the intake the prop rod may or may not get in the way. Guess I'll cross that bridge when I get to it.

Is that the steeda intake? If so then you've missed something in the install. I've installed that intake personally and it fit perfectly fine under the prop rod without any modifications.

This is a 2016 car, what year is your car? Also, if you go to the Steeda site you'll see a customer review on this kit stating his was the same, but he cut into the gasket to make it fit. Something changed with the '16 model. The box is all the way down and "poped-in" to the factory mount hole and the gasket is as far down as it will go.

No, you don't have to cut. Yes, you have to cut if you lower your car to depths of hell. I plan on running 17" wheels.

As you can see if I had 17" wheels on I'd be able to lower a bit and still clear the wheel openings.
Depending on tire diameter chosen, of course.

I have a 15 car which is identical to your car... as for the 13/14 cars the air box is identical. The ONLY thing on the intake that changes is the map sensor and the pcv on the back side of the manifold.

You don't have to give me any credibility, that's ok, but if you posted on focusst.org you'd realize I'm one of the more credible people on the forum. There isn't much about these cars with boltons that I do not know. I've done my due diligence on these cars.

Either way, just buy some $60 hood struts and take the dang rod off anyways.

Go ahead and find some pics of a car car with flares big wheels and not lowered. It looks like ass, and every post relating to the car will stay the same. The arches are higher than the stock arches on the flares. I don't care what you waste your money on, personally , I'm just trying to help. But bottom line you are wrong and your car will look stupid with flares without cutting the car. And you can only lower a 16 car 5/8" without running coilovers or switching to a 2013 shock and spring combo. Oh yeah you prob didn't know that either. I don't care what the websites say with the kits lowering it 1" or more, because they also don't mention that the 15/16 cars are lower stock than the 13/14 cars and the measurements are based off a 2014 car. Also did you know that no one makes shock for our cars? And the lowering springs will ruin the dampeners literally in less than 20k miles? How about once you lower it then blow out the dampeners then decide to go with aftermarket dampeners you will have to buy springs AGAIN because the only dampeners you can buy only for the 13 cars?

I can do this all day, like I said, I've done my due diligence. You don't get to be a top 10 poster of the biggest focus st forum in the world by posting dumb crap.

Seriously, because I stated "no, you don't to have cut" your all bent to hell over that? Because one doesn't agree with you or doesn't know better? You drag-out your credentials (from another web site.) and bash that person with them.

    Well, I apologize sir.

Yes, you are correct, hood rods are on the list after my next welfare check comes in.

PS- do yourself a favor and step-down from that thrown your sitting on Mr. top ten poster of the one of biggest Focus st forums in the world. Patting yourself on the back that many times doesn't make one look good. Or humble... to say the least.

No one said I was humble. Funny that you assumed I was. But offering help to someone and being met with an uneducated contradicting response does get under my skin.

Once again you don't read all that was posted (remember you had that problem the first time you posted.) or you ignore it on purpose. Read my first paragraph. I stated what I knew to be true and you come back like a pit bull that hasn't seen a can of Alpo in weeks. Then your all high and mighty, I'm THIS person and how dare you! Like the kids say.... Really? If you think being humble is funny I feel sorry for you. The opposite, well as a man I'd never want to be thought of like that. I know the kind of person you are. You'll think this so funny you'll provide a link over on focussst.org and act like a big man just get people on your side. Remember, this is my thread your the visitor be a gentleman and let it slide. Move-on...

you truly know me for sure!

just because I got a kick out of calling you out. And when it comes to wanting to educate yourself THATS when you need to be humble. When I was asking for information and trying to learn everything people had to offer about the ST I was beyond humble. Taking every advice I could get and politely questioning someone if I didnt understand. When I was learning and someone told be something as fact, I didnt dispute them know that I didnt know shi!t... (hint hint, that is you that did that). I corrected you as a gift of knowledge so you didnt waste precious time barking up the wrong tree and designing this amazing car in your mind that just wouldnt work. Forgive me for actually trying to help you at first in this thread. But the fact that i DO know whats up, doesnt make me feel all welcomed when someone that knows squat is attempting to correct me. So yeah, when it comes to my attitude towards your opinions, im not humble at all. im NOT a noob to the platform although at one time I was just that. The difference in you and I was I didnt offer an uneducated opinion and was humble enough to know I didnt know anything... you on the other hand, have it all figured out..

as for making posts on there pointing at your ignorance, Im not a child, and the fact that you thought of it first tells me that you obviously are.

It still comes down to the fact that I said "No, you don't have to cut. Yes, you have to cut if you lower your car to depths of hell" It just baffles me that a person would get so bent out of shape over a statement like that. Is that really a personal attack? You sure took it that way. Gee, I'd hate to think of your reaction if I'd outright told you to go f*** yourself. I think most people will tell you be cautious of people that offer advise on the internet. Even more so when you have no idea who they are. Just because someone is a member of a particular forum doesn't mean they are THE expert. In fact, and I'm sure you'll agree 90% don't know squat. In retrospective, I guess I should have just said "sure buddy" and all would have been fine, but how could I have known your so sensitive? At first I was hesitant to offer advise to a person with your "I'm the king of all knowledge when it comes to the Ford Focus ST and I will hand you a gift" attitude, but next time when someone doesn't agree with you just do a little internet search and show them proof. Maybe that might open their eyes and you won't have go into your I'm the king of Prussia routine.

Well, the time has come to end this dance, I have to get back to my AMAZING Ford Focus ST.
