For those worried about the color red or the color blue; you'll need to worry about who is in the oval office. The consensus is that CARB regs are due to hit nationwide by 2024.
You're full of shit. First of all, do you have any idea how much of the country has literally NO emissions/smog, etc. checks AT ALL. On top of that, are you aware the EPA is currently in the approval stages of letting the last handful of remaining counties in TN with annual emissions testing, no longer require it? Therefore the entire state will be without emissions testing, no smog test, nobody looking at your car, nobody plugging in an OBD2 reader. How in the hell do you figure CARB is going to be implemented if nobody is even looking at the cars? LMFAO
If you're simply talking about aftermarket parts being MADE and SOLD, then yes, maybe that becomes more of an issue as companies won't feel safe sending their shit anywhere in the country. However, there are hundreds of thousands of aftermarket parts out in the wild. So until all that shit gets thrown away, it's not going away. Also I stick with older cars that have parts aplenty. If you're trying to mod a MY 2022, then you may start having issues, but people just need to accept modding slightly older cars is going to be much easier at this point.
My cars are both modded how I want them, tuned, and that's that. I guess this is an issue for people going forward that don't have what they want yet, but times change, and this isn't that big of a deal except for in CARB states, which is like 10 of them, and ONLY in the Counties that actually do an emissions check. For instance, MD is on the CARB bandwagon, but certain counties don't do emissions checks after the initial purchase... so it's basically irrelevant.
Lastly, there's absolutely nothing on the first 2 pages of a Google search claiming what your "consensus" is, other than NEW vehciles, model year 2024, needing to meet even more stringent California bullshit.
