Has anyone ever coated/considered coating the factory headers in any sort of thermal management solution?

My mids have to go bye bye due to this fantastic state for now. I am debating getting JetHot or something similar to my factory iron logs to keep the underhood heat down. Especially on the road course.

I'm guessing it's not even worth the hastle, but I'm sure someone considered porting or coating at some point.

You could look at extrude honing your stock manifolds, might get a few HP that way.

Did you realize a noticeable difference in the underhood temps?

They do definitely radiate less heat than the bare iron manifolds. In my case, it was a package deal to keep the temperature down: aluminum block, Jet-Hot, Whipple, vented hood, and my 170° thermostat. All work very well together.
