Good move on the cash in person request... watch him quietly back out of the deal now.

Not tends to, ALWAYS.... Buyers can pretty much dictate what they want to do in any situation. There is ZERO seller protection on Paypal if things turn ugly.

I'd do cash or escrow.com, definitely not PayPal with such a high dollar amount and "you" being the seller.

At this point, I got to believe he is real.

I will be as careful as possible and have multiple friends on hand.

I’d do cashiers check at bank. Why even bother with cash. Could be counterfeit. Could get you to load the car and hand over the title, then pull a gun on you.

That’s why they go to the bank first, the bill counting machine would spit out any counterfeit bills.

Back to your original post, if he were offering you book value or less, not worth it. If he were offering you a little over, still not worth it.

But if he’s offering you “stupid money”, go for it.

My car will absolutely not be on any trailer until the cash has been deposited into my checking

38k? For a non running vehicle? That raises some serious flags. No offense.

This is clearly a scam or similar. No one in their right mind would pay 38k for a “in pieces” mid mileage terminator and sight unseen. It’s just ridiculous.

Op, be ready to be disappointed.

I won't be disappointed... It wasn't really for sale to begin with!

I'd like to finish it. Enjoy the car.

But for 38k, I'd have to sell it

Good. Hopefully it is a once in a lifetime offer and you are in fact reeling in someone with plenty of money.

    Best of luck.

Seems to me even the deal with the trailer could be some part of or a scam itself. Leaves it with you has someone steal it and comes back on you for it. I would tell him that neither you or your mechanic can accept the responsibility for that. Unless your mechanic has it locked up in a shop or something. Even then hell it could be stolen already. I would do nothing that puts any kind of liability on you or your mechanic. Even keeping the trailer.

Sorry I just don’t trust people and believe anything that sounds good is just a scam. Hell even whipped cream cheese is a ****ing scam. Your getting less damn cream cheese because they added a bunch of air!
    See makes ya think ;)

My cousin just went through this crab selling one of his excavators. **** that PayPal noise. The buyer wanted to go through all kinds of shit. Long story short the dude came up with cash, about 80% of asking price. Definitely was scamming things.

Cash or nothing OP. And even then is it even worth selling the car?
