Update time The wife and I visited our dealer and spoke to a few folks we know in Sales. As is, we'd roll negative equity. If we want to just get out of the truck, it's a chunk of change to do so. Sleeping on it and just talking to the wife helped. I/we decided it's getting a motor. But as of right now, based on SC lemon law, I only have 28 days before the truck hits the buy back tier. And with a 25 day back order on the motors, they're going to have to put it in fast. The minute it hit's 30 days I'm out and Ford can take it back. I'm cautiously optimistic like I was about the TSB procedure. The truck was bone dry on the dipstick when we started it at 4500mi, and I was hoping it would seat/stop using oil. 2k miles later, no bueno. Talking to folks that have had the truck yote's has not helped my opinion either. I've yet to find one good success story. New motor eats oil/makes noise. Clearly somethings wrong with the manufacturing process I guess. Anyway, yes, I was upset/emotional about it. But cooler heads are persevering. Especially when faced with the expense of thousands to avoid this issue entirely. Wife and I decided to use a portion of that money to buy a third car instead. In the event the truck situation continues to tank, it'll help having an extra pair of wheels to ride around in. I will update as things move along.
