oh really? Jesus, no wonder we had a huge security deposit to pay at the last apartment where Tanya roasted her hand, never thought about that.
I could look it up specifically, but I'm not sure if I'm allowed to say actual numbers like that, but it was something like $10k in fire damage and another $60k in smoke. It more or less ruins everything.

not at my post...
I have no legal advice, but would agree with the others that she can pound sand.

FWIW, its just a phase, at 7-8 years old my buddy, along with my older cousin and I made Molotov cocktails. We almost burned the garage down along with my old mans 61 MG A roadster. Talk about an ass whooping, don't remember getting many as a kid, but I remember that one!

+1 on telling her to GTFO

I'd also be a little pissed that he was so unsupervised. It sounds like he could have easily gotten pretty hurt in the whole situation.

It's almost like right of passage for a boy though. Never lit the house on fire, but I can pretty much bet everyone can remember a time they were screwing around as a kid and lit something on fire. Usually it'll scare the shit out of you enough to not be as dumb the next time.

OP, your name isn't attached to the house, property, mortgage, etc. in any way? You never gave your son the fireworks?

If you wanted full custody, now may be a good time to fight for it.
While she was "watching" her child, he nearly burns the house down? That won't go over well.

And as mentioned, homeowners should cover it, minus deductible.

WTH was he setting off that blew holes through the counters?!

Ya we all played with fireworks but I've never heard of someone doing it inside the house. Maybe hes got some anger issues towards mom/both of you over the divorce.

May not have a thing to do with the divorce. My parents were happily married 42 years till dad died at 66. I still shot up the house with the .22 air rifle when I was 10-11 if I was left at home unsupervised. The pellets were locked up, just not very well. lol

:D:eek:
