we all say or read about race stories by how many car lenght you have won... but from where do we measure this??

for instance...

A) does 1 car length mean that you have beaten your oppnent when his front bumper is almost at your rear bumper.. hence making it one car length??

or

B) does 1 car length mean that the distance between you and the opponent is approximately 1 car length

because if "B" is the case.. 1 car lenght is a lot...

here is a diagram.. hehe

One car length he is at your bumper. Half car length probably at the rear of your front door. The bottom part of the drawing is a two car length lead.

I was thinking B as well.
stop thinking immediately, go to a NASCAR or a Kentucky Derby race they use horse length there instead of car length though.
