^ Same one I used, and I had to massage the spare tire well as I was having contact problems. I think there is a lower profile version that's used on the 05+ Mustangs that can be used without having to mess with the spare tire well.

That Ford Racing piece works well because it was designed to fit all years up to '12, so it's already the low profile design. It's also made by TA, so if you want the same thing, but about 40=50 bucks cheaper get the TA Performance one for the 05-12 Mustang (I think the part number is 1806b).

I used the Mac cover on one of my Fox-Bodies, and it was OK. It leaked a little no matter what I did, and the fit was not quite up to par. It was far cheaper than its competition, however. I think I would go T/A, though, were I to do it again. The Mac didn't have the recessed studs/nuts on the girdle like the newer T/A's do either.

How many of you replaced the studs when you replaced your girdle?? Is it recommended or just personal preference when doing the girdle?
